Instagram Just Launched IGTV, A New Long-Form Video App That’ll Get Ya Hooked
Instagram is taking on YouTube by launching its own video app for long-form videos called IGTV. Believe me. It’s going to suck up all your spare time.
In an effort to create a space to share longer videos (up to one hour in length) the company announced its new app IGTV, which will house longer-form vertical videos from Insta-famous people, content creators, and normies just like you and I.
Like Snapchat, users will be alerted when their fave people/pages add new content. And luckily for us, Instagram has partnered with Punkee (!!!) to launch the new video sharing platform.
Here’s what we know so far:
Who is already on there?
Everyone and anyone can join. While it’s not just for big celebs, some names that are already on there include Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, John Mayer and Riverdale bae Madelaine Petsch. Oh and Jiffpom. Of course.
What kind of stuff can we expect to see?
Everything and anything that content creators are already doing, but with the extra time and flexibility to tell longer stories and engage even more with users.
On Punkee’s IGTV page you’ll find lightning fast news wraps, as well as countdowns on everything pop culture related. Oh, and of course some wise words from Osher Günsberg himself.
When is it available?
Right the fuck now! You can download the IGTV app globally on iOS and Android.
