When J.K. Rowling released the final instalment, ‘The Deathly Hallows’ in 2007, all us Harry Potter die-hards were hoping it wouldn’t be a clean break-up between us and ‘The Potterverse.’

Fortunately, Rowling has kept us on our toes, feeding us with little crumbs of insight over the years, and now she’s released some fresh and juicy details about our main man, Harry.

Released on her website, ‘Pottermore,’ Rowling has given insight into Harry Potter’s family history, dishing the dirt on some answers that fans had been after.

Rowling’s piece includes information about the history of the Potter family name and the history behind the trusty old ‘invisibility cloak.’

As the site puts it:

“The new writing from J.K. Rowling sheds unexpected new light on the origins of the Potter family name, delves into Harry’s ancestry, explains how his grandfather quadrupled the family’s fortune and how the Invisibility Cloak became a family heirloom.”
