It is my life goal to taste every single Tim Tam variety ever created. Dream big, kids. Shoot for the stars.

Last month, Arnott’s teased some extremely cooked British Tim Tam flavours which included scotch egg, fish and chips and bangers and mash, but it was the jam and cream scone-flavour which piqued people’s interest the most. This was clearly the only flavour the biscuit brand would consider making and surely enough, within weeks Arnott’s had made a prototype of the new Tim Tam variety.

I mean, scones topped with jam and cream is the perfect combo so I couldn’t see how that wouldn’t translate to a delicious biscuit. I simply HAD to taste these Timmy Tams.

We got our hands on an elusive packet of Jam & Cream Scone-flavoured Tim Tams & here’s what it tasted like.

At first glance, they just look like white chocolate Tim Tams but you can see the jam filling through the coating, so you know this is something special.

The thin layer of (what tastes like) white choccy encases a crumbly shortbread biscuit, it’s a MUCH SOFTER biscuit than regular Tim Tams. At first, I was like “WTF, it’s too soft! What is this?! A Tim Tam for bAbIeS!!” but eventually I calmed down, and I guess the consistency is trying to emulate a crumbly, soft scone so it actually works.

The cream fills the middle layer and then there’s a stretch of jam through the centre. The jam flavour is dominant and the consistency has a chewiness to it, which reminds me of the raspberry flavour of those moreish Kooka’s Country Cookies that you find at old school motels. I’m not complaining, it’s actually a comforting throwback and the jam is delicious.

I don’t know if the flavour combo when eaten all together screams scones with jam and cream but it’s a delicious white chocolate and jam biscuit. It tastes like an Iced Vovo but with white choccy and a more decadent, crumbly biscuit base. It tastes like no other Tim Tam I’ve had before AND they made me crave a cup of tea, which for a biscuit created to appeal to all things British, seems like a job well done.

All in all, I’m a massive fan. I’m in love. I’m deleting Tinder as I’ve found The One. I would happily polish off a whole packet of these in one sitting.

It’s unclear if or when this Tim Tam flavour will actually hit supermarket shelves but I’m praying to the biscuit gods that you all get to share this truly religious experience.
