Last Night’s ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Reunion Proved That Jax Needs To GTFO The Show
Vanderpump Rules may have started off as a highly-addictive reality TV show but the last couple of seasons have felt a little stale, no matter how much drama the cast has tried to bring.
Season eight saw the once solid friendships of the cast members dissolving, as the Witches of Weho erupted with Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney no longer wanting to be friends with Kristen Doute, and former BFFs Tom Sandavol and Jax Taylor pretty much putting an end to their friendship.
The tight bonds of the cast has always been a reason to watch the show, but the now heavily edited storylines and castmates blindly defending each other when it comes to controversy is getting old.
The hardest time of Brittany’s life was firing her homophobic pastor? Feels like a very easy decision to me. #PumpRules pic.twitter.com/fhECjYDY4o

LVP is defending a lot of indefensible behaviour on the #VanderpumpRules reunion. Bringing up Max’s “diverse family” and defending Jax and Brittany’s Pastorgate? Really Lisa? #PumpRules pic.twitter.com/FUbnLkto26

Take Jax: no matter how many times the show has tried to give him a redemption arc, season after season he proves that he isn’t going to change.
From his cheating scandals to his rage blackouts, pathological lying, and obvious disrespect for women (including his wife Brittany Cartwright), it’s getting frustrating watching someone like Jax, who’s now in his forties, get away with the same, tired behaviour.
Which brings us to new cast member Charli Burnett.
Charli hasn’t exactly been a fan favourite this season as a new addition, but tbh I love her. Sure, she may not have ever tried pasta but she’s always been brutally honest. Who could forget her date with Brett when he went on and on about his ex and she calmly replied, “I don’t even sit through a podcast this long.” There’s no doubt that Charli stands her ground and in a show full of people backflipping to defend each other, it’s refreshing to see.
Charli’s no bullshit approach to the first reunion episode was a breath of fresh air. Not only did she give zero fucks about calling Jax out, but when the older cast members tried to come for her and defend the morally corrupt Jax, Charli barely broke a sweat.
Watch Charli call out Jax for being a bully on Vanderpump Rules below:
I haven’t even watched this season but somebody please give this Charli chick multiple paychecks? #pumprules pic.twitter.com/OSJXihbHQ6

When Lala then attempted to call out Charli, saying she needs to earn respect, Charli promptly responded that she didn’t need to earn anything from the old cast, who are known for using bullying tactics to haze people into SUR before accepting them. Honestly, we have no choice but to stan.
While most of the Vanderpump Rules cast are still Jax apologists, fans of the show were thrilled to see someone finally call Jax out and stand their ground.
Charli took on Lauren from Utah, Kristen, Jax, Brittany, Stassi, even LVP and didn’t even break a f*cking sweat. This girl is the future. We have to stan. #PumpRules pic.twitter.com/LHO4DIbaQC

The only reason Jax doesn't like Ariana and Charli is because they're the rare females that look at him with disgust and disdain and he knows it. Guys like that are so used to women throwing themselves at them, they can't handle the slightest rejection #PumpRules pic.twitter.com/ftBl8sKinY

We want more Charli on Vanderpump Rules holy shit she’s incredible!!!!!!!

Brittany saying Charli is the most disrespectful person she’s met is hilarious, seeing as her husband cheated on her with Faith next to an old woman #PumpRules pic.twitter.com/MTS23JA5NT

As I lean into levity and messiness, I just want to say Charli is the best addition to Vanderpump Rules we've had in YEARS.

Proud of Charli for standing up. These people on Vanderpump Rules legit do not realize they are at work. Creating a hostile working environment is not okay or a "right of passage." That sounds like some Weinstein shit.

YES, I NEED MORE CHARLI DRAGGING JAX. She's the only one that just GOES THERE and serves it to him. #PumpRules #vanderpumprules

Charli called Jax a 50 year old man so casually #PumpRules pic.twitter.com/XKHWgCACyu

The rest of the #PumpRules cast chastizing Charli for not respecting J*x is laughable. Their allegiance to him needs to stop.

With next week looking like Kristen walks out on the show for good, we can only hope the series does a proper cast revamp next season and takes a stand against the tired, same-old behaviour from the OGs.
Sure, they may have created the show and made it what it was, but there are only so many times as fans of the show we can accept blatant bullying, gaslighting, bad excuses, and fake apologies from OGs like Jax Taylor… and dare I say it, Tom Schwartz and his disgusting behaviour towards his wife Katie.
#PumpRules Tom Schwartz could murder someone but if he gives a goofy smile and says he knows what he did was wrong, he’ll always get a pass.

Many fans of Vanderpump Rules aren’t against getting rid of Jax and Brittany, so the show can reclaim its former glory. Let’s hope Lisa Vanderpump takes notice.
When are the #PumpRules producers going to finally fire Jax and jesus jugs 2.0? Bravo, please know that not every show needs a person with no redeeming qualities. Even jax’s fights set my teeth on edge. He brings nothing of interest. He is not a reality tv villain! He’s an idiot. pic.twitter.com/Icw5Q7YmFS

FWIW, we’re happy to keep Tom Sandavol and Ariana Madix, so take that Jax.
