Jay-Z put a pause on the tunes in the middle of his concert in Cleveland, Ohio this week to zero in on a young girl and share some empowering counsel with her from the stage.

Jay-Z has a whole lot of fans, and the crowds that eagerly pile in for his concerts include all kinds of people. Even nine-year-old girls. At his concert the other night, the rapper and father of three stopped the show to have a heart-to-heart with a girl up the front near the stage, and it was damn beautiful.

He singles her out and starts chatting with her, delivering an empowering message.

He started saying:

“Remember, you can be anything that you want to be in the world,”

The inspiring words continued as fans went nuts:

“At this very moment, America is way more sexist than they are racist. But you, young lady, you got the potential to be the next president of the United States. You believe that. You understand?”

Footage shows the young girl nodding enthusiastically while Jay-Z talks to her, and beaming as he jokes with her. Then she helps him with the countdown to start the next song. Bless.

Jay-Z has been consistently vocal about pressing social issues during his recent stretch of shows and this is an important example of using your platform and status to try to impact change. Here for mid-concert feminist speeches, always!
