Jay Z has announced he wants to team up with Harry Styles to help the One Direction frontman transition from a boyband group singer to a credible solo artist.

While speaking with Daily Star Sunday, music behemoth Jay Z said that he would seek to team up with Simon Cowell to work with Syles on new music and make him ‘the biggest artist within a year‘.

Considering he basically already is, one can only presume that Jay thinks he can use his producing skills to help catapult Styles in to Bieber territory with bangers appropriate for teen-boppers, gangsters and nightclubs alike.

Late last week news surfaced that our boy Harry has been working on some of his own tracks, registering songs called ‘Already Home’, ‘Coco‘, ‘Endlessly‘ and ‘5378 Miles‘ with the performing rights organisation ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). According to NME, Styles shares co-writing credits for the songs with Snow Patrol guitarist John McDaid and dance songwriter/producer Gary Go, but all four songs listed Styles as the only performer.

On Sunday, Jay Z told the Daily Star:

“Harry doesn’t need any help with exposure, everybody in the world knows who he is. But he does need to make the transition from being part of a group to becoming an individual artist,”

“I can get him working with the bigger artists, the biggest producers — and have him as the biggest artist within a year.

“I would love to sign Harry. Simon is going to want to carry on working with him, of course. But we could do a joint venture — we both have big qualities we can bring to the table.”

Fellow One Directioner, Liam Payne recently let slip in a BBC radio interview that the band could be taking a break for up to two years following several years on the road touring away from home and family. Despite all of them confirming in interviews that none of them will be working on solo albums, it seems inevitable that soon Harry will step out on his own.
