Get ready for a festivus! Announced overnight, comedian Jerry Seinfeld will tour Australia next year, for his first set of stand-up shows here since 1998.

Seinfeld will play Perth Arena on August 4, 2017, Adelaide Entertainment Centre on August 5, HiSense Arena in Melbourne on August 6, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 9 and back down to ICC Sydney Theatre on August 11.

“Australia may be far in miles but I feel very close to the people because of our mutual comedy connection,” Seinfeld said in a statement issued from the tour’s promoter, TEG Dainty. “I couldn’t be more excited about seeing everyone there again.”

We’re excited too!

Seinfeld has been performing live comedy since 1976, but hit the big time with the Seinfeld TV series, co-created with Larry David in 1989. The comedian has since lent his voice to Bee Movie, and presents his own web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

The Seinfeld finale aired in May 1998, and the comedy legend has enjoyed a successful stand-up career since, with his brand of observational comedy.

Tickets go on sale November 14 via Ticketek.
