Jock Zonfrillo’s Wife Lauren Shares Heartfelt Video Message
Jock Zonfrillo’s wife Lauren Fried has addressed fans with a heartfelt message, one month after Jock’s death at the age of 46. The tragic news of the MasterChef judge’s passing was announced on Monday, May 1, the same day the cooking show was due to premiere.
Lauren has now posted a video on Jock’s Instagram account, thanking fans for all their support during the difficult time.
“It’s been a month now, since we lost Jock, and I put a line in the sand thinking that at the one month mark I would turn some sort of corner,” she began. “Obviously, that hasn’t happened.”
“And there’s no time that I could allocate to say thank you to everyone, I am just overwhelmed by the messages that came in from people all over the world, that knew him, or didn’t know him.”
“I really wish that he knew how loved he was, and he knew the impact that he had on so many people.”

Lauren went on to say that she’d be taking over his social media accounts for now, as she previously worked “really hard” on his social presence with her husband. In a heartbreaking admission, she said she wasn’t sure what would be deemed “appropriate” to post on his socials, so she wanted to see what his fans thought first.
She also told fans that Jock was extremely busy before his passing, and listed out all the projects he was working on. “He’s got a lot of behind-the-scenes interviews and photos from MasterChef, he’s got books, a fashion range, he’s got spirits ageing in a distillery in Tassie,” she said.
“He’s got a TV show he filmed in Italy last year with the family… and somehow, we will work out whether there’s a path forward here or if we don’t do anything [on social media] at all.
“But thanks again, and I will manage this channel from now on, and I’ll respond to as much as I can. Thank you,” she summed up.
Jock’s close friend and fellow MasterChef judge Andy Allen showed his support on the post, writing: “Love Jock, love you and love the family xxx.”
Fashion designer Collette Dinnigan assured Lauren that she shouldn’t feel any pressure to get Jock’s projects out there as soon as possible, saying: “Love you and know that when it feels right for you it’s right… you all have so many projects you worked on together. There is no rush, don’t feel a need to do anything except to take care of yourself and family.”
“Whatever you do will be the right thing. Thinking of you and your family,” agreed MasterChef contestant Stephanie Joy de Sousa.
Our thoughts go out to Jock’s family and friends during this difficult time.
