Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin Have Revealed They Waited Until Marriage Before They Bonked
Regardless if you love ’em, loathe ’em or don’t think about them, there’s something super fascinating about Justin and Hailey Bieber’s relationship.
The couple got married last September after a whirlwind romance, but have known each other for ten years and also briefly dated back in 2016.
Both openly speak about religion’s role in their relationship and are advocates for the Hillsong Church.
The couple spoke to Vogue in what’s probably the most revealing interview they’ve given since getting married.
Here are the most interesting tidbits the Biebers revealed in the interview.
1. They remained celibate until they got married.
Justin said that they may have got married a little faster because of this, but it wasn’t the only reason. “When I saw her last June, I just forgot how much I loved her and how much I missed her and how much of a positive impact she made on my life,” he said.
2. Their breakup in 2016 was quite dramatic and they’re still working through “issues” from the fallout of it.
“Fizzled would not be the right word—it was more like a very dramatic excommunication,” Hailey said of their breakup. “There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out.”
3. They handle things very differently but that’s why they think they work.
Justin admits to dealing with things emotionally, while Hailey is much more level-headed. “He’ll say, ‘I feel,’ and I’ll say, ‘I think,’” Hailey said. “I have to really dive deep and struggle to be in touch with my emotions. He gets there immediately.”
4. They go to marriage counselling.
5. It’s not a “magical fantasy” but they’re both committed to “supporting each other”.
“We’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy. It’s always going to be hard. It’s a choice. You don’t feel it every single day. You don’t wake up every day saying, ‘I’m absolutely so in love and you are perfect.’ That’s not what being married is,” Hailey stated.
6. Justin ended up cancelling the last remaining dates of his worldwide Purpose tour due to depression.
7. And he admitted to abusing Xanax in the past.
“I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed,” he said.
