I Watched The First Ep Of Hailey & Justin Bieber’s Reality Show So You Don’t Have To

Justin and Hailey Bieber have a new reality show giving us a deeper insight into their lives and, well, because we’re in iso we care more than ever.

It may be generous to call it a reality show as such. Don’t expect the glam and perfectly constructed storylines of the Kardashians, or any polished dinner parties that would make the Housewives jealous. Premiering on Facebook Watch, the first episode of The Biebers is super low-key and just follows the couple around on a boat as they talk about married life.

So if you can’t be bothered to watch it, good news! I did it for you.

Here’s what went down on the first episode of The Biebers:

“We went down to the lake the other day, we happen to live on a lake, so I took her on a boat and I talked to her about some of my childhood fishing experiences and uh, it was really fun so check it out,” Justin said to open the episode.

Personally, I can’t think of anything worse than my husband taking me on a boat to talk about fishing, but as I think we will continue to learn throughout this series, Hailey is an actual IRL angel and has the patience of a saint. It makes sense these two are wildly religious.

As the two get on their boat, Hailey agrees with Justin when he asks her if it’s one of the most peaceful places she’s been. “It’s our sanctuary,” she said.

Imagine being in quarantine and being able to leave the house to go cruising around your own lake. Celebs… they’re just like us.

Justin then talked to Hailey about the first fish he ever caught and practiced what his Tinder photo would look like if he ever needed it.

After this, things got deep:

The Biebers went on to talk about their favourite part of being married, the hardest part of being married, and Justin asked Hailey how she regained trust and confidence in him again after their split years earlier.

She talked about not using anybody else to fill the gap he left in her life, working on herself and her career, and making things happen on her own so by the time they go back together she knew what she wanted.

It’s kinda like listening to what your therapist wants you to say by the end of all your sessions.

Justin admitted married life hasn’t been an absolute fairytale… mainly for Hailey: justin bieber reality show

“There’s a lot of things I need to work on, forgiveness things, jealousy things, insecurities, I didn’t even realise I had until I chose to spend my life with you,” he told Hailey.

As Hailey talked about their mutual friends becoming impressed with Justin’s growth and the two getting back together again, she also mentioned how she can’t let social media comments affect her:

She said when people “comment on the internet” about Justin and what he’s done in the past, you have to step into “security” as a wife “to be like, I’m aware of everything you’re saying.'”

Look, at least these two are aware of what each other is saying, but not gonna lie, they’ve kinda lost me along the way here.

We start to wrap up our boat time just as Justin started harping on about forgiveness.

“How do you forgive someone who doesn’t deserve to be forgiven?” Justin asked Hailey. “Because we know we were forgiven first,” she replied. “Oh boy, look at the time, I gotta go,” I said to my wrist, hosting an imaginary watch.

After hey finished their lake heart-to-heart, Justin asked Hailey if she had a good time and whether she’ll remember that for the rest of her life. She apparently will. I honestly still can’t believe they live ON a lake, as per Justin’s description earlier. I’ll remember that for the rest of my life.

In conclusion, I kinda just feel like I watched a nine-minute ad promoting the benefits of marriage counselling. This isn’t a dig at the Biebers whatsoever – it’s obvious when watching they’ve put some real work into their relationship and I like to think these crazy kids can really make it work.
