Kanye West Discovered David Bowie, Is Now Working On A Tribute Album To Continue His Work
UPDATE: Kanye’s management have announced that this isn’t happening (thank your lucky stars). Kanye won’t be releasing a David Bowie cover album… phew.
Yeezy meets the Starman… how does that make you feel?
Kanye West is reportedly working with his latest muse – the late, great David Bowie – as Yeezy plans a Bowie tribute album.
After the iconic artist tragically passed away last week after a long but largely private battle with cancer, West has decided to pay tribute to Bowie’s musical legacy, recording a mix of covers of his songs and some with a distinctive Yeezy spin.

A source told the Daily Star:
“He is determined to carry on David’s work as a musical innovator. He says that the torch has been passed to him,” said the source.
“Some are straightforward cover versions with Kanye actually singing. On others he is rapping with his own lyrics over Bowie’s music.”
The ‘Monster‘ rapper is said to have been spending hours in the studio working on covers on Bowie’s most beloved hits such as ‘Changes‘, ‘Heroes‘ and ‘Rebel, Rebel‘. Some unconfirmed reports have suggested that West has said that the torch has been passed to him and has labelled himself as Bowie’s successor in terms of musical innovation.
Classic Yeezy. Too modest.
Although this isn’t strictly West’s theory, a long-held Reddit conspiracy has linked Bowie’s back catalogue to foreseeing his death and the birth of West.
Either way, sounds like this whole thing is going to be very interesting.
