Keira Admits Jarrod Dumped Her Over Text & She Isn’t Quite Ready For ‘Bachelor In Paradise’
They found love on Bachelor in Paradise but it ended in very public heartbreak. Since Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate announced their split, both sides have done the rounds, talking to the media about what went wrong in their nine-month relationship.
Keira is looking onwards and upwards and has teamed up with Deliveroo in light of the split to deliver ‘heartbreak’ pizza – the perfect antidote to any bad breakup.
Punkee sat down with Keira about the breakup, dating dealbreakers and whether or not a second season of Bachelor In Paradise could be on the cards for her.
On the Jarrod breakup and the media circus surrounding it:
“I’m just really disappointed. I think in my interviews I’ve kept them brief and surface level. He’s going into things that are pretty deep. And I think there’s a fine line when it comes to media as to what you should be discussing. He’s not really telling the truth. The thing is I take responsibility for what I’ve done but he’s pushing the blame onto me and that’s fine. I get it, he’s hurting. But if you go to that level, you have to be prepared for consequences and that’s probably me never talking to him again. We were talking up until the last article came out.”
On being dumped over text:
“I actually haven’t seen him since we broke up. I think when you’re with someone and you go through so much you give them the respect of meeting up with them in person. I think break ups… it depends. If you’ve been seeing them for three weeks, just send them the heartbreak pizza! But if it’s nine months in, you should sit down and have a chat.”
On dating dealbreakers:
“People that smoke. And it was really disappointing to me because Jarrod smoked and I didn’t know. When you meet people on reality TV, obviously you’re so detached from the outside world that there’s a persona.”
On whether she’d do Bachelor In Paradise again:
“I think the thing is for me, I’ve already done it once so that’s probably enough… but at the same time, you can’t disregard everything that happened. I had a good experience but everything is about timing. I wouldn’t do it again right now. I think there are bigger and better things for me.”
