Travis & Kourtney’s Vegas Wedding Wasn’t Legit & This Is Why I Have Trust Issues
Fans were delighted this week when it was revealed that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had eloped, holding an intimate gathering (literally just the two of them) at a Las Vegas chapel at 2am after the Grammys.
The couple started officially dating at the start of 2021 before becoming engaged in October. Known for their PDA on the red carpet and unpredictable behaviour, it wasn’t out of character for the punk-rock pair to have an unconventional wedding.
Following reports of their Vegas ceremony, the couple have confirmed the news on Instagram. Travis posted a couple of photos, simply captioned: “What happens in Vegas.”
Kourtney posted a more extensive gallery of the special night, but it was her caption that has left us confused. “Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am,” the post began. “After an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect.”
Ummm, excuse moi?
By stating the wedding was not legally binding and joking “practice makes perfect”, this obviously means that the wedding was not legit, suggesting that Kourtney and Travis are still planning on having a proper wedding with family and friends.
On Kourtney’s post, family friend Simon Huck wrote, “Who doesn’t love a Vegas dress rehearsal?”
Well Simon, I do not!!!
Of course, the couple are entitled to hold any kind of (real or fake) wedding they like, but I was quite invested in the idea that Kourtney had gone against her family’s history of holding large, extravagant (and often televised) weddings.
It now seems likely that Kourtney and Travis’ real wedding will feature on the upcoming The Kardashians TV series — and the Vegas wedding was a teaser.
As the ancient proverb goes, the devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder.
