Leigh Sales Reveals The Misogynistic Abuse She Cops, Inspires Another Female Journo To Name & Shame
One of Australia’s most respected journos, Leigh Sales has had enough of the misogynistic abuse and online bullying she receives on Twitter on a daily basis.
Today Sales chose to air some of the disgusting comments she has had to tolerate.
After last night’s 7:30 program, where Sales interviewed opposition leader Bill Shorten, she received a barrage of disgusting comments, and posted the following tweets this morning.
Let me call out the river of disgusting, sexist and relentless abuse I've on Twitter during this campaign with a handful of examples:

I'd rather watch dog turd turn white than watch @abc730 and @leighsales – disgraceful "journalism".

While this is just a small snapshot of the constant trolling she receives, it’s clearly apparent that the tweets are solely coming from men.
Her move to shine a light on sexist trolls has inspired another female journalist to share the abuse she has had to endure, simply for being a female journalist in the public eye.
Political reporter at The Herald Sun Annika Smethurst felt inspired by Sales to post some of the trolling she has been sent from Twitter user ‘Kevin 44 Elms’.

Sales choice to name and shame some of the awful messages she gets sent from trolls was applauded by Twitter users.
Putting up with this sort of disgusting abuse should not be part of @leighsales's job. Well done for calling it out. pic.twitter.com/wvs48ES4dO
