Lena Dunham Is Keen AF To Work With Josh Thomas, Thinks America ‘Needs’ him ASAP
In a comedic collaboration of wet dreams, our favourite feminist Lena Dunham of Girls fame, says she wants to work with Aussie comedian Josh Thomas.
Thomas and Dunham had dinner in December at Dunham’s home, and are now probably BFF’s, exchanging emails regularly and planning to work together. Later Dunham said,
“I was really excited, I freaked out. We had a meeting,”
“The sense of humour is just so high level. And I would love to work with him. He’s such a funny actor. He’s so. I’m like America needs some Josh Thomas”
Thomas’ coming of age dramedy Please Like Me (AKA the best damn thing to hit Aussie television), has just wrapped up its third season and has gained modest success in the United States. Speaking about PLM, Dunham said:
“I’m like this is the best thing I’ve ever seen why is no one talking about this. It’s truly amazing and the fact that it’s not winning every Emmy in the world is insane because it’s as great if not better than everything else that’s on television.”
Amen, sista.
With the end of Girls nigh- the series is expected to conclude after season six- looks like Dunham could have some free time on the horizon and the opportunity to develop new ideas and concepts; maybe with a certain ginger-haired self depreciating comedian?
This isn’t the first time the two have professed their admiration of one another, Dunham tweeted about the comedian last year.
All I ever want is to be curled in bed watching Please Like Me. This show soothes my existential unrest. I love you @JoshThomas87
