LISTEN: The Strokes Have Released New Music For The First Time In Three Years
Last night, The Strokes premiered two new singles ‘Oblivius’ and ‘Drag Queen’. They made the announcement on frontman Julian Casablancas’ radio show, Culture Void, which broadcasts on SiriusXM. It’s the first new music from the band since 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine’ and they also treated us to their first on-camera interview in ten years.
The Splendour In The Grass 2016 headliners have sent their fans into a frenzy, generating plenty of online excitement and anticipation for further track releases.

We’ve given the tracks a spin and can’t decide if it’s the comeback fans have been waiting patiently for or a hot mess. Both tracks get kicking at around the 2:30 mark but “Drag Queen” is definitely the stand out. The only downside is that it takes a few listens to understand exactly what Julian Casablancas is singing about.
They’ll be dropping their new EP, Future Present Past on June 3. The songs are available to stream now on Spoitfy.
