Australian 60 Minutes reporter and Adele fangirl Liz Hayes has tracked down the Queen of soppy ballads and squeezed a new track out of her. ‘When We Were Young’ follows ‘Hello’ as the second single that will appear on Adele’s forthcoming album, 25, out November 20.

Not a fan of a being teased one song at a time, Liz couldn’t hold on any longer to hear  new music. So as an investigative journalist by trade, she ventured to the UK, gifting the world this exclusive new taste of the song which subsequently lit up the net earlier this week. Here’s the sneak peak that went up Monday:

On the back of people loosing their shit to the teaser, Adele has caved and decided not to negotiate with Liz’s ransoms. Instead, she’s dropped this bad-boy online on her terms, releasing the full live performance of ‘When We Were Young’ to YouTube.

That’s right, you now have a new Adele track to weep and reminisce about all your former lovers too.

Adele co-wrote the song with Tobias Jesso Jr and according to an interview with SiriusXM, Adele said the inspiration behind the track came from “seeing everyone that you’ve ever fallen out with, everyone that you’ve ever loved, everyone that you’ve never loved, and stuff like that. And where you can’t find the time to be in each other lives and you’re all thrown together at this party when you’re like 50, and it doesn’t matter and you have so much fun and you feel like you’re 15 again. So that’s the kind of vibe of it really.”

My favorite lyric in it is ‘You look like a movie, you sound like a song / My God this reminds me of when we were young.’”

Here’s the clip of Adele pushing her voice box and diaphragm beyond the human norm in the new song. Enjoy responsibly.

For ol’ times sake, here’s the first single from the album, Hello.
