We Ranked The ‘Love Island’ Contestants From Nay To Bae
Love Island has officially returned and we’ve already selected our faves and nays of the season.
The reality TV dating show debuted on both 9Now and 9Go! last week, and we’ve been bombarded with a bunch of different characters who are looking for love in the iconic Spanish villa.

In case you have never watched the show, Love Island follows a bunch of singles who are searching for love. The aim of the game is to stay coupled up until the very end. Contestants who are left single are in danger of being eliminated from the villa, and contestants who are not popular can also be booted, even if they’re in a relo.
Contestants are challenged in every episode with different tasks and games, which can potentially add drama or romance in the villa. New singles, aka bombshells, also join the villa as the season goes, shaking up couples that you’d think are ride or die for each other.

And with every new Love Island cast, there’s gonna be contestants that you’ll love and ones that’ll give you the ultimate ICK.

15. Conor
Walking red flag!!! Conor is the villain of this season for many reasons. Starting off from the beginning, Conor originally chose Layla for his first partner, but after she was stolen by Austen, he picked Jessica.
But the reason this man should not be dating AT ALL is because of how he treats Jess. The warning signs began when he randomly kissed Jess during their first conversation, with Jess calling the unexpected snog a “pink flag”.
Since that awkward smooch, the pair has argued in almost every episode, and the toxicity between him and Jess is just way too much. He gaslit Jess during an argument after she confronted him for wanting to couple up with Stella behind her back, and during another spat he pounded his fist on the sun bed out of frustration. Big yikes!
When Conor told Stella that he only noticed her after she straightened her hair, it gave me the hugest ICK ever.
Conor is incredibly unlikeable and we really hope he gets booted soon!
Most likely to: Gaslight you into thinking that Australia isn’t real.
14. Maddy
Maddy was the first female bombshell to land in the villa, and she is feisty as hell!
She entered the villa after she stole Austen and Callum for a cheeky date, and when she walked in, it was giving villain vibes. She didn’t even give the girls a look, saying, “No no, guys first.”
But adding to the drama of it all, Maddy made it obvious that she was after Love Island’s kiwi Mitchell, after asking him a bunch of questions about Phoebe during her introduction, and then giving him a snog during a game of truth or dare.
She officially takes Mitch when she was given the opportunity to couple up. After she stole Mitch from Phoebe, Phoebe warned Maddy that she would “fight for him” but Maddy replied saying “may the best woman win,” which set off Phoebe in a confessional.
Maddy is a certified shit stirrer with the drama she’s bringing, but at least Phoebe and Mitch had a little shake up to add some spice to their relationship.
Most likely to: Airdrop thirst traps in public to randoms.
13. Callum
Callum is the definition of a f*ckboy, but OFC with his good looks, the girlies are frothing.
Callum entered the villa as a bomb alongside Tak and immediately the other contestants noticed how buff he is. When Claudia asked what gives him the ick, Callum revealed that his approach to dating is “all about the looks,” adding “personality would never attract me first.”
Eww.
So far he’s coupled up with Layla but it seems like he also has his eyes set on bombshell, Maddy.
Most likely to: Hoard a bunch of Colgate white strips.
12. Mitchell
At the start, Mitchell was pretty okay, albeit low-key boring despite calling himself the “nicest f*ckboy in the world.” But with his recent actions, we know what he means.
After being coupled up steadily with Phoebe, he immediately bags her out after Maddy steals him during a mini coupling ceremony.
While Maddy was justifying her steal, telling Mitch that Phoebe would be probably ‘jumping on’ the next bomb, Mitch double downs saying “yeah, probably if he was an AFL player.”
Like, was that comment even necessary?
Most likely to: Apologise for ghosting.
11. Jessica
Jessica is Love Island‘s feisty gamer girl, who coupled up with walking red flag, Conor.
The two cannot stop fighting and their arguments are getting quite repetitive and quite scary. You can almost feel the toxicity coming out of the screen.
Jess is definitely one of the contestants in the villa to ‘try out’ different contestants, especially with bombs Tak and Callum, who both took her out on a one-and-one date. But honestly, if I was stuck with Conor, I would too.
She’s definitely one of the more entertaining contestants on the show, and we love her friendship with Claudia, however, watching her continuously argue with Conor is tiring. Thankfully, Conor and Jess finally called it quits and it looks like Jess now has eyes for Al.
Most likely to: Text her ex after a couple of tequila shots.
10. Al
Al Perkins, aka the shoey king, has literally just entered the villa, so there’s not much we can say BUT we just know he’s gonna bring heaps of entertainment, crazy dares, and some spicy romance moments.
Maybe he’ll finally find his wife this time around? Based on how many girls are already into him, I reckon his chances are pretty damn high.
Most likely to: Probably go on another dating show after Love Island, cause why not?
9. Andre
Andre probably has the biggest brain and the best eyebrows of this season. Andre was really sweet to his partner Stella and his style? Best dressed of Season 4 for sure.
Unfortunately, Andre was evicted from the villa after Stella chose Jordan in the recoupling ceremony. Although we didn’t see much of Andre, it was sad to see him and his perfect eyebrows go!
Most likely to: Use up all of your eyebrow product and not replace it.
8. Phoebe
From the start, Phoebe was basically attached to Mitch by the hip, and it seemed like they were gonna be the winning couple. But then came Maddy and she completely changed the game, stealing Mitch from Phoebe, leaving her single AF.
Despite being single, Phoebe may have upset fellow contestant Stella after Jordan and Phoebe were getting a little handsy and flirty.
Being freshly released from the grasp of Mitch, Phoebe has so much potential to find someone who brings out the best in her (aka Jordan).
Most likely to: Be on the cover of a ’00s magazine like Girlfriend.
7. Tak
Tak is a gorgeous Brissy seccy who entered the villa as a bomb alongside Callum. So far, he seems chill and a lot of the other islanders seem to get along with him.
During his first couple of episodes, it seemed like Tak and Jess were gonna couple up, but in the end he picked Holly and it seems like their connection is more of a friendship than a spicy relationship.
Tak’s chill, charismatic and super handsome! Definitely hope he stays on.
Most likely to: Skip a huge line at a famous club because he knows the owner/DJ/promoter.
6. Layla
Layla is one of the sweeter girls at the villa.
In the first coupling round, Layla was stolen from Conor by Austen, and the pair were quite smitten for a while, up until Austen felt sparks with Claudia after they kissed in a red flag challenge.
After Layla was was dumped by Austen, she was eventually picked by Callum after they had a quick chat beside the pool, with Callum calling her a “proper stunner.”
So far, a lot of the girls have a good relationship with each other (besides Maddy who really stirred the pot) and Layla seems to be one of the empathetic ones in the villa, like the time she comforted Phoebe after Mitch was stolen.
We love when girls support girls!
Most likely to: Hold your hand while you cry.
5. Holly
Holly is originally from the UK, and she’s definitely giving Barbie girl vibes mixed with Lady Gaga. Unfortunately, Holly was left single during the first round of coupling, but in a shocking twist in the first episode, she stole Jordan from Claudia.
Jordan barely showed Holly any love, but she was then picked by Tak in the second round of recoupling and like we said earlier, we’re only feeling the friend vibes here.
It’s only early days, but I definitely feel like Holly will bring a lot of drama, after all she did say that she’s “a bit of a f*ckgirl” at the start of the season.
Most likely to: Completely ghost someone after six months of texting.
4. Jordan
Right off the bat, everyone judged the man for his haircut, which we don’t get because mullets are sooo hot right now (IMO)!
When he first entered the villa, a lot of the girls judged him for both his mullet and the budgie smugglers. Jordan’s pick was Claudia, stealing her from Andre, even though she bagged him out for having a mullet.
Claudia and Jordan’s relationship evolved super quick, and they were kinda cute, but unfortunately after the red flags challenge and her sparks with Austen, they broke up.
For now, he’s with Stella.
Most likely to: Give you his shoes when your tired of walking in heels.
3. Austen
Austen is probably one of the prettiest boys in the villa right now. When he first came the villa, a bunch of the girlies stepped forward to be part of his first couple. Austen ultimately chose Layla, and the two were good, up until Claudia and Austen felt sparks after kissing in a red flag challenge.
Austen was honest with Layla about his feelings with Claudia, which was such a healthy and brave thing to do!
He is also super kind and loving towards Claudia, and it’s so sweet to watch him fall head over heels for her. Like that mini surprise picnic in the villa? Adorable.
Most likely to: Be the next Bachelor.
2. Stella
Stella is known for being the nice girl in the villa. Ever since she entered, she’s been like a ray of sunshine. Her first match of the season was Andre, and she did give us one of the first heartbreaks when she completely blindsided him in the second recoupling ceremony, where she chose Jordan over him.
It was quite funny watching Stella fangirling over Al because of her love for MAFS. It was really sweet, and quite refreshing to see such a relatable reaction.
Overall, Stella seems like a fun girl to be around and we hope she sticks around.
Most likely to: Take care of everyone on a night out.
1. Claudia
Claudia is a fan favourite and I’m honestly here for it. She’s gorgeous and seems to get along with most of other contestants on Love Island. Her friendship with Jess is also adorable, and their kiss? STEAMY AF.
Claudia was first picked by Andre but then was stolen by Jordan, despite her dissing his mullet. The pair forged a cute little relationship, but Austen changed the game after they both felt a spark during a kiss in one of the challenges.
Though it was sad when she ditched Jordan for Austen, but the girl knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. I appreciate that she also was quite respectful to Layla and acknowledged that the whole situation was a ‘shitshow’.
Claudia definitely embodies what Love Island is all about: a hot single looking for love.
Most likely to: Secure free drinks at the club cause they’re hot.
