This series of Love Island just keeps on getting better: at last night’s recoupling ceremony intruder Phoebe Thompson chose Cassie Lansdell to partner up with.

While neither of the ladies went into the villa looking to date women, they both agreed they were drawn to one another, with Phoebe telling Cassie she was the only person she was sexually attracted to.

Watch it play out below:

Before coming to the villa, Phoebe has said “Obviously I came in here thinking I am looking for a boyfriend, I am looking for a male partner, but I have been with girls before.”

Phoebe and Cass had previously shared a kiss in one of the group challenges and last night debuted as an official couple.

We love to see it! This is the first same-sex to couple up on the Aussie version of the reality show. The only other same-sex couple in the series’ history was in the 2016 season of Love Island UK series, when Sophie Gradon reunited with her ex-girlfriend Katie Salmon.

The couple up comes at the same time as news dropping that fellow contestant Cartier Surjan said she was against same-sex marriage. She told New Idea: “With same-sex marriage, I’m a Christian, I don’t believe in it, but I’m never going to discriminate against someone.”

Yikes. Can’t wait for that debate to go down in the villa.

Tbh, this year’s season is already 10 times better than that toxic, gaslighting rubbish we all cringed over last year.
