Love Island’s Grant Says He Didn’t Know He & Tayla Had Split Until He Read It Online

This story just keeps on getting weirder. Yesterday, Love Island’s Tayla revealed that she and Grant had broken up a mere two weeks after winning the reality show. But in a twist, it turns out this was news to Grant — well, that’s what he’s claiming.

In an interview on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, Grant Crapp said he was surprised Tayla told the media they had split before posting the news to Instagram. He said he thought they’d just had a disagreement and hadn’t actually broken up.

“To be honest with ya, we had more of a lovers’ tiff and I thought we could work things from that, and that’s how it just went out like that and it just totally got me unexpected. I was like, ‘Wow’,” he continued.

“We have had a conversation — it was news to me obviously that it was posted online… I kind of knew that was gonna happen. I never expected it to be on Instagram so quickly.”

Mr Crapp described the fight as coming down to him still seeing a girl before he entered the villa.

“There’s a few things. A little bit on that [his ex-girlfriend]. It’s just hard, mate, obviously, because I did go on the show and fell in love with Tayla, and I still do love the girl,” he said.

“Unfortunately I think it was a bit too much for her, and I understand that, I regret not telling her earlier. It’s just hard. I’m still in love with her, you know?”

Grant told the radio hosts that he still holds out hope that he will reunite with Tayla.

“I will try my best to win her back. You can only try so hard but I love the girl deeply. I went through an amazing experience with her, and right now, it’s, ugh. What do you do?” he said.

“I asked her [if she was still in love with me], she said she is.”
