Everything You Need To Know About Eccentric New ‘MAFS’ Bride Lucinda

Married At First Sight may not be great at pairing up long-lasting couples, but it sure knows how to cast an eclectic bunch of singles that we will inevitably become obsessed about watching.

With the new 2024 season just around the corner, we have a whole new host of brides and grooms to get to know. But one, in particular, has already sparked up a conversation for her whacky approach to vows and her similarity to a last-season lad.

Everyone, meet Lucinda.

Lucinda, who was 43 at the time of filming her season of MAFS, works as a celebrant and has a very specific set of requirements for her new dude. If you’re getting deja vu, that’s because Jesse from last season was also a celebrant and spent hours waxing at the experts about what he didn’t want in a bride. To jog your memory: if you’re into horoscopes, YOU’RE OUT.

From what we can see from the first MAFS trailer, Lucinda, is a candid character. She presents relationship expert Jon Aiken with a parchment scroll of must-haves for her husband – listing things like “generous of spirit”, “confident” and “evolutional living” (whatever the heck that means). We then see a shot of her hugging a tree, because why not. And finally a sneak preview of her vows, where she drops this banger of a line:

“You’ll meet the damsel in me that wants you to rub my body.”

While the edit of the trailer obviously makes Lucinda out to be a bit crackers, her positivity shines through the mayhem. Her wedding day is literally interrupted by a hectic storm and her only response to being asked if this was how she expected her wedding day to go was, “it’s better!”

As Lucinda works as a wedding celebrant, her work is quite well publicised across the internet as she gives couples she’s working with updates from her. One intriguing update was that she’s moving to Sydney.

“I’m currently in Victoria & moving to sunny Sydney beginning of March. I’m taking enquiries & would love to MC your party too,” she wrote on Instagram.

Instantly I’m thinking, she’s moved to Sydney to be with her MAFS husband after filming?? But then I did some more snooping.

If the Daily Mail is to be believed, Lucinda appears to have been matched with a groom from Melbourne – a real estate agent called Timothy Smith. So unless both of them are shaking things up and relocating to Sydney, I have a feeling that these two don’t last beyond the show…
