This Is What Your Makeup Is Going To Look Like In 2024
Usually, I’m not one for beauty trends, but, guys, this year is looking GOOD. While 2023 brought us Barbie pink everything, latte makeup, clean girl aesthetic, expensive (and recession) brunette and glazed donut lips, somehow this year is bringing even tastier snacks for our faces.
So what’s in store for 2024? Scroll through these five core makeup trends for 2024 so you can get excited about the year ahead.
Cherry Cola Lips
I know what you’re thinking… 2023 was dominated by beauty food trends. We had strawberry and tomato girl makeup, but tasty treats are back for 2024 and it’s all getting kicked off with Cherry Cola Lips.
This fuses together red and brown hues in an ombre lip, letting you dial up the red for a night look or lean into the brown tones for a daytime vibe. The best combo to do this with is a brown lip liner that doesn’t budge and a red-tinted lip oil or gloss to lacquer on top.

Office Siren Style
This may feel like a problematic name (and that’s because it is), but the makeup trend is actually pretty damn cute. It basically takes Gisele Bündchen’s energy in The Devil Wear’s Prada and mixes it with Olivia Rodrigo’s staple eyeliner.
The trend extends to fashion too, with 2024 seeing in pleated and pencil skirts, neckties and slinky little reading glasses, but the easiest wins are in the makeup department. All you need is a thin eyeliner to stretch out those wings, a lick of lipstick and a brushed brow. That’s it!
Best Office Siren Beauty Products:
Maybelline Hyper Sharp Wing Eye Liner Black, $9.99 // Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick in Cookies and Cocoa, $40
While it wasn’t hitting all the classic ‘Office Siren’ criteria, I believe Billie Eilish was giving her nod to the trend with her Golden Globes look. This secretary style was perfect and my god she makes everything look cool.
Blue, blue, blue blue and a little bit more blue
While 2023 may have been the year of pink (thanks Barbie), 2024 is ringing in the total opposite hue as it’s all about blue.
According to Pinterest Predicts (aka the masters of trend intel), blue will be massive this year with folks powdering their eyelids with baby blues, drawing feature lines in electric blue and even dabbling in blue iridescent tones for their highlights. Of course, these shades tie in oh-so nicely with the comeback of silver jewellery – adding to the frosted Elsa look.
Best Blue Beauty Products:
MECCA MAX Zoom Flex Fluid Liquid Shadow In Cornflower Blue, $22.00 //Morphe M2 Ready in 5 Eyeshadow Palette, $11.00
Blackberry Kisses
Oh hello, it’s another fruit! But this one is not here to mess around. Blackberry lips are made with the blackest of black lipstick and paired with matte lipliner to create a bold statement.
Spotted on the likes of Adut Akech at the Met Gala and Lupita Nyong’o at the Renaissance world premiere, this beauty trend is best paired with a ‘look at me’ outfit and paired-back hair.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain In Night Bird, $22 // Laura Mercier Rouge Essentiel Silky Creme Lipstick In Plum Noire, $30.50
Frosted Eyes
While this will be dominating now in the northern hemisphere, this trend will really come into its own during the winter in Australia. Think a little sparkly snowstorm blowing across your eyelids, but a storm that might have blue, pink or even red undertones. Oooft.
The key with this trend is all in the placement. You either want to dust the powder across your whole eyelid or just in the corners of your eyes to really make them POP. A pure white shimmer will do the most, but as long as you have a bright white element of the base then adding a sparkly topper will still have you shining.
I’m hoping this trend marks the end of warm-toned eyeshadow palettes and the arrival of frosty, cool-hue pigments that I can chuck all over my face.
