Jean-Paul Gaultier Mardi Gras pop-up

Here’s How To Score A Free Mardi Gras Glam-Up On Parade Day

Brought to you by PUIG

Gaultier, Mardi Gras, and you — name a more iconic trio, we dare you.

Gay Christmas (AKA the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade) is almost here, which means we’re deep into planning our celebrations.

Whether you’ve got your outfit ready or are still putting the finishing touches on it, we’ve got the tea on how you can glam it up even more.

French haute couture designer Jean Paul Gaultier is opening a tattoo parlour on parade day to help you vamp up your Mardi Gras outfit.

The pop-up parlour will be offering free temporary tattoos to anyone who drops by. The ink is all designed by Gaultier, so you know you’re gonna roll out of there looking so chic. The artists will be doing additional airbrushing to anyone who’s ready to make a big, spectacular statement this Mardi Gras.

Expect hot sailors, fragrance samples, Madonna bangers and more while you’re getting (temporarily!) tatted. Gaultier, Mardi Gras, and you — name a more iconic trio, we dare you.

There’ll also be a photo booth on site, so you can pose with your mates and have a memento of your Mardi Gras before you hit the dance floor and no-doubt sweat off your look.

Jean Paul Gaultier has always been a loud and proud supporter of diversity, inclusivity and equality. We have Gaultier to thank for Madonna’s conical bras and being one of the first designers to put men in skirts on the runway. The brand is best known for its signature Le Male fragrance — a masculine bottle containing an almost unisex scent.

Visit the Jean Paul Gaultier pop-up tattoo parlour at 257 Crown Street between 2pm and 8pm on February 29 to get your free tattoo. You’ll be so ready to roll up to the parade and party all night long.
