Margot Robbie Will Take Up Most Of The Screen Time In Suicide Squad, Says She Aspires To Be Harley Quinn
Margot Robbie showed up on our television sets not too long ago as the creative and passionate Donna, an aspiring designer from Ramsay Street, on Neighbours.
Soon, she’ll be showing up on the big screen (again paired with Will Smith, and for the first time playing alongside Jared Leto) as Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad – a flick about the villains of the DC Comics universe.
It’s recently been revealed that Robbie’s character Harley will take up most of the screen time and plot of this new feature. Robbie was pretty excited to tell Cineplex how she feels about playing Harley:
“Harley is creepy, violent, crazy — all of the things that I aspire to be! [laughs] No. It’s the fun of living vicariously through someone who is doing things that I would never do in real life.”
She didn’t have much to comment about acting for the first time with Jared Leto, who’ll be playing The Joker, but Robbie had plenty of nice things to say about Will Smith, who is starring as Deadshot.
“I enjoyed working with Will so, so much that I was overjoyed when I heard that we would be working together again. I actually texted him when I heard he was in negotiations to be in Suicide Squadand kept peer-pressuring him, ‘You’d better be taking this movie!’ He obviously signed on for his own reasons… He’s awesome on set and awesome off set. He’s just a really, really good person.”
It’s rumoured that Robbie and Smith’s on screen chemistry could be the source of the idea to include a love triangle between Harley, The Joker and Deadshot – but who knows? Anything is possible when it comes to super villains.
The cast of Suicide Squad is without a doubt an all-star line up, and as the press gets more information and tidbits out of the cast and crew – it seems to be that Margot Robbie is going to be the winning ingredient in this melting pot of awesome.
