Cam couldn’t seem to find time in his life for his Married at First Sight bride Lyndall, but it appears that he’s managed to shuffle his schedule around for his newly confirmed girlfriend.

The MAFS star told Channel 9 that he’s seeing someone who he doesn’t have to “talk about feelings [with] every two seconds”.

Umm, yikes.

Cam was partnered with Lyndall on the popular reality TV show and while their relationship appeared to get off to a great start, it disintegrated as the season went on. Towards the tail end, Lyndall told Cam that she needed more affection from him but the FIFO carpenter said that it wasn’t in his character.

The other shoe dropped when Cam told Lyndall he would be working “out bush” for up to a year at a time, and said that he wouldn’t have much time for a relationship. Things escalated further when he told her at a MAFS dinner party that he wasn’t falling in love. Lyndall then unceremoniously dumped Cam at the final vows before telling him she didn’t want to hear his speech.

It doesn’t look like these two have patched anything up, as when speaking about his new love interest, Cam told the network that he hasn’t given his ‘ex-wife’ the heads up.

“Lyndall is not aware, no. I kept that one quiet. I think she’d be happy for me. Hope so.” he said. “I’ve  got something really good going on back in Darwin at the moment.”

And the man who famously told Lyndall that he wouldn’t have much time for a relationship due to his busy work schedule also revealed to the network that he plans on heading off on a year-long road trip with his new flame.

“She’s decked out this van, it’s f–king ridiculous. So I’m taking the cruiser, the trailer. I’ll pick up some work along the way, but we’ll just go travelling for about a year.”

What. The Hell.

Cam explained that he met the mystery woman at an end-of-year work party, which begs the question if there was an overlap with MAFS filming, considering the reunion was filmed in mid-December.

“So I met this girl, I met her at a work knockoff do. All us boys knocked off work for the year and we went down to the local watering hole and done a number on ourselves,” he said. “She walked in and then we kind of really hit it off from there.”

The reality star added that he can “see a longterm future” with the woman, but danced around whether they are officially girlfriend and boyfriend.

“It hasn’t been said yet, but yeah,” he finally confirmed. I’ve still got to get back and still do the things I love and hopefully I can do that with this new person,” he said.

“It’s someone I can be myself [with]. I can be normal. I don’t have to be someone I’m not. And I don’t have to talk about feelings [with] every two seconds. It’s just good, it’s just good to have someone that you enjoy being around with.”
