Chris From MAFS’ Dullest Couple Is Claiming He Was Kicked Off The Show
This year’s Married at First Sight drama keeps getting even more hectic, with contestant Chris claiming he was kicked off the show by producers.
After getting barely any airtime, Chris and Vanessa exited the experiment this week. From what viewers were shown, an argument broke out as the couple hosted a lunch with family and friends, with their feud ending in Chris telling Vanessa he would leave the show.
But Chris is now singing a much different tune, telling Who that he did not choose to leave the reality series but that the decision was made for him by the network because of Vanessa’s mental health.
“We were forced to leave MAFS. Producers told me they weren’t able to shoot anything more with us because Vanessa threatened the network and made up this stuff about her mental health,” he told the magazine.
“I still can’t figure out whether Nine or MAFS were being delicate because of her mental health excuse or because she was going to take legal action. I think a different side of her came out in the last episode and she was worried about how she was going to be portrayed, so they just kicked us off.”
Chris went on to say that he reckons Vanessa was trying to make out like he was the villain.
“She told producers she wanted to paint me in a bad light because I apparently gaslighted and manipulated her. But they said back to her, ‘We can’t paint a picture of a guy that hasn’t done anything wrong. He has been the most respectful, honest and gentle person throughout the whole process.’ She never showed signs she was struggling in front of me yet made it out like it was my fault because I wasn’t showing her affection.”
Vanessa is, of course, telling a much different story, saying in a recent radio show Get Up With Krysti & Bodge that there was an unseen incident that caused her to ask to leave the experiment.
“It all came to a crumble the night of the lunch. Chris went out with his family and partied and stuff and he came home and was quite abusive to me, to the point where I hid in the bathroom from him. That’s how dramatic that night was for me,” she told the radio duo.
“He just said to me, ‘Vanessa, look at yourself, no one is going to want you after this experiment.’ I was like, ‘Oh my god,’” Vanessa claimed.
Chris concluded by saying he holds no hard feelings. “I don’t hold grudges towards the network and Vanessa. The show had extensive medical support available. But the end was just so toxic. I have been through some really tough stuff with my kids and even my sister said during filming that she’s never seen me that bad. I would never do it again.”
