Forgive me Married at First Sight experts, it’s been about a year since my last confession.

Lucky for me, it’s Confessions Week! The special week first debuted on MAFS in 2021, but it’s back baby — and more dysfunctional than ever.

Basically, the week is dedicated to fast-tracking the couples getting to know each other through a series of tasks after they move in together. The most infamous of all these tasks is the photo ranking challenge, whereby (for some reason??) each partner has to rank the contestants of the opposite gender by attractiveness, including their own husband or wife. How could this go wrong?!

This task leads to Al having his confidence shaken… for probably the first time in his life. While Al ranks Samantha number one, his new wife positions older contestants Anthony and Andrew above Al.

Holly and Andrew also participate in the same task just when they are barely on speaking terms. This followed Andrew starting to freak out upon learning from Holly’s confession letter that she wants to be a mother sooner rather than later. Andrew then told Holly he was worried she was wasting her time with him as he’s “not The One”. Savage! It all came to a head as Andrew and Holly got into a huge fight, ending in Andrew leaving their apartment.

Thankfully it wasn’t all tense vibes as Tamara and Brent, along with Olivia and Jackson, offered some much needed reprieve.

Tonight’s Married at First Sight confessions week mayhem retold in funny tweets:

Samantha and Al move in together and she immediately teaches him how to use a washing machine and, err… open a detergent box. In the photo ranking challenge, Al is left offended when Samantha ranks him lower than Anthony and Andrew, prompting a conversation about his lack of maturity.

Tamara and Brent hit a stumbling block when their audition tapes are played, which features Tamara making some materialistic comments about wanting a partner with money. Brent is left horrified, before Tamara reveals her comments came from past experiences of looking after people and feeling used. The couple make up… literally. Brent reveals they “engaged in intimacy”.

Olivia and Jackson also watch their audition tapes, leading to Jackson getting teary opening up about his history of being a victim of domestic violence. Olivia comforts him and it’s a beautiful moment. This couple is perfection.

Anthony and Selin make some small strides in their relationship. While they are still living in separate apartments, Selin reads out a confession letter about suffering postnatal depression and Anthony offers her support in return.

The same cannot be said for Andrew and Holly. Andrew pens Holly a letter admitting to having 350 sexual partners, while Holly writes about how her biological clock means she feels pressure to be a mother ASAP. Andrew quickly starts to buckle under the pressure.

Andrew sleeps on the couch and the next day he tells Holly that he’s not The One and doesn’t want to waste her time.

They then have to rank the other contestants by attractiveness, which leads to another argument where Andrew tells Holly he does not feel responsible for her being upset. After she shouts at him in response, he walks out of their apartment and threatens to leave the experiment.
