Married at First Sight viewers are baffled by some of the contestants supporting Andrew Davis and coming down harshly on Holly Greenstein at tonight’s dinner party.

The evening began with Andrew arriving before Holly and surprise, surprise: he quickly painted himself out to be the one trying in their relationship. This is despite Andrew telling Holly in their last scene together that she exhibited “narcissistic behaviour”, leading to her kicking him out of her apartment.

But without any of this background information, the other couples fell hard for Andrew’s bullshit. “This is a pivotal moment tonight,” expert John Aiken said as Andrew arrived. “His behaviour on the couch at the commitment ceremony offended us and now he’s got a group who will hopefully hold him accountable”

Lol. This did not happen.

Andrew sat down and acted like he was giving some sort of motivational talk as he addressed the room. “Since the wedding day, there was no connection between us and I saw some things that I didn’t like right out of the gate,” he began. “I feel like I failed myself and I feel like I’ve failed Holly as well.” At this stage, the energy of the room changed from curiosity to straight-up fangirling, as contestants offered words of encouragement to Andrew. “You apologised, she didn’t apologise” Tamara said. “You were very respectful.”

As Andrew continued rambling on about being “perfectly imperfect”, Olivia’s expression saddened. “I’m sorry but there was just such a disrespect in her sitting on the couch and rolling her eyes at you,” Olivia told him. “You’ve taken so much accountability.” Ummm.

At this point, the experts are shocked by what they were witnessing. “Were these women in the same room as us?” Mel Schilling asked, baffled. Mood!

Once he realised he had won over the group, then came the waterworks from Andrew. “I’ve cried more in the last two days than I have in a long time,” he said tearfully, which prompted possibly the most infuriating group hug I’ve ever seen.

If we thought the vibes were bad when Anthony arrived at last week’s dinner party, Holly was basically walking into an Andrew fan club meeting. “Holly’s not going to have a chance when she enters this room,” Mel correctly stated.

As Holly walked in she received a frosty recaption, which contrasted rather hilariously with how flamboyantly and enthusiastically she strode into the room. Holly blanked Andrew upon her arrival which only further infuriated the group and served Andrew’s narrative that he was the victim. “You see what I’m saying,” he sneered at Jackson after receiving Holly’s cold shoulder.

It was clear Andrew had most of the men on his side, but even the women offered Holly no empathy or understanding. Rather than asking her how she was doing, Olivia badgered her with insensitive questions. “Why didn’t you just say hi?” she asked. Holly tried to tell Olivia that he “hadn’t been very nice” to her in recent days, but Olivia butted in, “He was accountable for that! Make the point girl, spit it out!”

I have no words.

Before Holly could defend herself, dinner began and it only got messier. While Andrew and Holly were supposed to sit together, Holly loudly dragged her chair to the opposite end of the table. Say what you will about Holly but she knows how to create a dramatic moment. Oddly enough, Tamara didn’t see the funny side. “Is that what you have to deal with?” she whispered to Andrew.

Tamara then rushed down to Holly to interrogate the poor women some more, asking “Holly? Holly? What’s going on?”. Domenica was the only person to actually ask Holly if she was okay. Holly told the ladies she’d been struggling as Andrew made her feel “lower than dirt.” Tamara dismissed this heartbreaking revelation to say that Andrew was “sad”, before demanding that Holly provide examples of times her TV husband had mistreated her.

Then in the ironic MAFS moment to end all ironic MAFS moments, as Holly was answering Tamara’s question and telling her that Andrew won’t let her finish a sentence, Olivia butted in to instruct Holly to “be the bigger person,” before rolling her eyes. Holly tried to tell the women that he had thrown insults and been “horrible” to her, but all he she got back was Tamara asking “How come we don’t see that side of him?”

As Holly literally listed all the nasty things Andrew has called her, both Tamara and Olivia sat shaking their heads. “I didn’t see anyone questioning Andrew when he had the floor — he got group hugs,” Alessandra Rampolla said, as the experts watched on in horror.

The whole thing was just awful.

MAFS viewers took to Twitter to slam the contestants for their support of Andrew and treatment of Holly:

Do better!
