Tonight’s Chaotic ‘MAFS’ Retreat Retold Via The Best Tweets

Married at First Sight delivered another night of “couples retreat” mayhem to us and I am still undecided whether this retreat premise is the best or worst thing that has ever happened to this show.

What was MAFS before this retreat? Boring visits to hometowns? Another long, sad, dragged out week of living in a shoebox apartment together? The producer who came up with the retreat idea should give themselves a pat on the back, while also paying for all our therapy going forward because if I have to see Bryce be disgusting to one more person, I’ll need to be sent on a retreat myself.

Just when we thought Bryce couldn’t get any worse, tonight’s episode he managed to set the bar even lower. In a tense pizza party, he crowned Jake and Rebecca the “king and queen of the experiment” before assaulting Bec by kissing her on the cheek without her consent.

It’s definitely time to kick this man off our TV screens.

Here’s tonight’s chaotic Married at First Sight retreat retold via funny tweets:

A new day dawns and some of the couples rehash Bryce’s terrible dinner behaviour, while Melissa says she’s mentally drained by everyone having their opinions on her relationship with Bryce. Rebecca and Jake work on their morning gratitude.

Jason reckons there’s no coming back for him and Alana after she broke his trust last night. Alana spent the night in Booka’s room instead and is quite emotional over what’s happened with Jason. Booka realises Brett isn’t the worst guy on the show.

Brett and Booka go for a walk to feed the ducks and talk things out. Brett suggests they start off as friends as they try to move forward, and Booka agrees to look towards the future instead of dwelling on the past (the letter).

Rebecca talks to Georgia about how she and Jake are in a good place, but she’s still worried that Jake “went to Bryce’s level”. Meanwhile, Jake talks to Liam about how he’s not sure if he should make a move on Bec or not.

Johnny, Bryce, Melissa, and Kerry get Jason to stop moping in bed and open up about Alana. Jason lists off the things he likes about Alana and yes, he mentioned the red lingerie.

Booka and Brett seem to be back on track after hanging out one on one, and Johnny and Kerry decide to throw a pizza party in the hopes that all the couples can finally get along. Kerry says she’s optimistic everyone will have a good night, because she’s clearly never seen this show before.

Alana and Jason avoid each other at the pizza party. Alana gets upset after Melissa talks to her about all the “nice things” Jason said about her, and Jason eventually goes to find her… except they end up fighting again.

Bryce calls out the pizza party “boring” in front of everyone, so Belinda decides to address the “elephant in the room” – the elephant being Bryce’s asshole behaviour this whole damn time. Bryce has no idea what he should be apologising for, so Liam calls him out.

This leads to Bryce making a spectacle of himself by sarcastically apologising to the whole group for the group “playing mind games with his wife.” This causes pretty much everyone to call him out, including Brett and Jake. Bryce decides to crown Jake the “king of the experiment” and tries to kiss Bec on the cheek to crown her “the queen of the experiment.” Bryce, champ, that’s what we call assault, you POS.

Bryce and Melissa walk off and Melissa asks Bryce what he was thinking in that moment, except we all know by now Bryce doesn’t ever use his brain.

Another new day dawns! And once again the couples discuss all the drama from the night before, and Kerry and Johnny are brought closer together by being the only normal couple in this whole experiment.

Jason finally realises after watching Bryce make a dick of himself that his own behaviour towards Alana has not been good, even though he still thinks she did “betray” him. Jason apologises to Alana and invites her back to “the big bed” which is straight man talk for “I miss you and I’m falling for you”.

Belinda goes to check on Melissa after the events of the night before and asks Melissa about Bryce’s good traits.

The girls and boys all separate for the respective girls and boys’ night, because we all know how well these usually go. Melissa and Bryce decide to not show up.

Jake asks the boys for advice about his physical relationship with Bec. He still thinks he and Bec have been matched for a reason, yet Bec tells the girls she’s not sure if Jake is her person.

The boys all talk about who they would’ve liked to have been matched with if they weren’t matched with their original partners, and they all say Kerry. Kerry then shares to the girls that Johnny likes to narrate sex.

And Bryce and Melissa spend the night playing Monopoly.
