Couples retreat has finally ended on Married at First Sight and I don’t know about you, but I’m not feeling particularly rested or relaxed after last night’s stressful episode.

Most of Tuesday’s episode revolved around Bronte and Harrison (surprise!) who are now at war with Melinda and Layton, after Harrison told some straight-up lies about how Layton described his blossoming relationship with the stunning CEO.

Of course, the blame somehow fell on an apologetic Bronte — who we hope locates a spine asap — as she continues to believe Harrison’s nonsense. The group united to tell the couple that no one believes they’re legit, and it looks like there’s some massive fallout between the couple on tonight’s dinner party. Stay tuned!

Until then, let’s rehash last night’s shitshow of an episode.

The final days of couples retreat on Married at First Sight retold in funny tweets:

Evelyn and Melinda snooped on boys’ night and overheard Harrison describe Layton’s relationship with Melinda as toxic and fake. Layton defends Melinda, replying that Harrison’s words were offensive and wrong. Ollie and Rupert jump in to back up Layton.

The girlies relay what they heard to the rest of the ladies, and Bronte walks off in a huff. In her absence, the girls discuss whether they believe Harrison and Bronte’s relationship, and then Claire drops a bombshell: Bronte told her she doesn’t see a future with Harrison. Meanwhile, Bronte tells Harrison about Evelyn/Melinda’s eavesdropping sesh. Layton confronts Melinda, and of course Harrison has to add his two cents.

For once, Claire and Jesse are thriving. Ollie and Tahnee are couple goals too… as per usual.

The same can’t be said about Layton and Melinda who are barely speaking. Harrison then tells Bronte that Layton said he’s not in a “happy and healthy” relationship. Umm. He what?

Hugo and Tayla are still not talking. Lol. Hugo feels disrespected over Tayla speaking openly about sexting her ex. Back with the girls, Tahnee reflects on how Tayla speaks to Hugo, then Lyndall claims that the intruder bride is “into Cam”.

Alyssa is still struggling with Duncan’s lack of attention so she umm… refuses to spend the day with him getting attention. Duncan confides in some of the other boys that he’s at his breaking point.

Bronte and Melinda get into a feisty chat. She defends Harrison but Melinda questions their legitimacy as a couple. Bronte replies they’re real before turning on Melinda: she says Layton told Harrison that their relationship “isn’t good”, and is not moving forward.

Melinda relays what Bronte said to Layton, and he denies it. He wants to focus on their relationship, but Melinda is spiralling and wants Harrison to be called out for his lies. She storms off, asking production to step in.

Ahead of the final night at couples retreat, Evelyn and Melinda plot Harrison’s demise — queen shit! After discussing with Rupert, Layton tells Melinda that he will have her back.

As the couples meet for drinks, Hugo brings up Tayla sexting her ex. She says it’s a “crock of shit” and calls Hugo “fragile” but the other brides/grooms back up Hugo. Tayla then comes at Evelyn for pulling faces, then randomly tells her to “f**k off”, and in reply, Evelyn says Tayla should grow up.

Tayla storms off and Cam consoles her — interesting huh.

Layton, Melinda, Harrison and Bronte have it out. Bronte questions what Harrison told her, and Harrison says that he doesn’t remember. Bronte then ends up apologising to Harrison?? Melinda calls Harrison a “manipulator” and tells him to stay away from her relationship.

Melinda then drops that everyone thinks that Harrison and Bronte aren’t real. Layton agrees. Bronte asks the group if this is true, and Alyssa and Claire share their hesitations. Evelyn announces that “all the girls” agreed. Well, that backfired.

Harrison and Bronte walk away, but Bronte does reveal in a confessional that the group’s judgments on their relationship ‘planted a seed’ in her view of him.

Bring on tonight’s dinner party mayhem!
