Tonight’s First ‘Married At First Sight’ Dinner Party Retold Via Funny Tweets

I hope y’all are thirsty for some piping hot tea, because tonight saw all the couples converge for the first Married At First Sight dinner party and petty drama was on the menu.

Most of tonight’s events revolved around Samantha and Cameron, a couple who had a big blowup during their honeymoon and arrived separately to dinner. Unlike other years, neither party aired their dirty laundry to the rest of the group in order to get people on their side. Instead, they gave a joint speech and argued in front of everyone, you know… like civilised people.

While we expected some friction between Coco and Samantha tonight, after having a quick chat they seem to be on better terms. Instead, the most awkward moments came courtesy of Rebecca, who avoided her husband Jake all night. Jake? She doesn’t even know him! Eventually, she ended up shit-talking him to the girls over dinner, all while he sat beside her. I hope Rebecca feels like having divorce for dessert! It was a real mess — aka on perfect form for a MAFS dinner party shitshow.

Let’s make sense of it all via the episode’s best tweets!

Tonight’s first Married At First Sight dinner party retold in hilarious tweets:

We join the couples on the final days of their honeymoons. Samantha and Cameron are still not staying in the same hotel. While Belinda and Patrick have become awkward together since Patrick’s bubble bath aka the most cringeworthy five minutes of my life.

To lift their spirits, Belinda and Patrick go skydiving. Meanwhile, Beth is struggling with not feeling an instant attraction to Russell.

Samantha decides against meeting up with Cameron before the dinner party, leaving him furious and questioning whether she is looking to cause a scene in front of the rest of the wives and husband. On this show? Never!

Slowly all the experiment’s contestants arrives at the dinner, with some couples clearly not vibing. Everyone is shook when Samantha rocks up alone, but she doesn’t share the details of why she isn’t with her husband. Cameron arrives and upon greeting Samantha, it’s clear they’re in icy territory.

It’s dinner time! Rebecca disses Jake privately to the ladies, and then publicly — like literally, right in front of him. She complains that he didn’t make her laugh the whole honeymoon and that she finds him boring.

Finally, Cameron and Samantha share with the table why they’re feuding. They, predictably, don’t agree on what went down on their honeymoon. Samantha says she was treated like a one-night stand, while Cameron disagrees. It all ends in Cameron walking out.

Coco then decides now is the time to confront Samantha about their hen’s night beef but thankfully, they quickly made up.

Cameron returns to vent to Russell that he isn’t feeling heard in his relationship. He decides he will write ‘leave’ at the next commitment ceremony. But then John arrives to alert contestants that there is no ceremony, instead the couples will move in together in a week dedicated to confessions. Oop. The experts are pure evil.
