A ‘Married At First Sight’ Couple Are Actually Getting Married (Yep, You Read That Right)
In news that we don’t share all that often, a couple created from the Married at First Sight experiment are not just still together — they’re bloody engaged.
If you cast your minds back to the 2021 season, a couple of bright-eyed contestants who had both previously been married were introduced halfway through the season as intruders. Johnny Balbuziente was a theatre producer from Queensland, while Kerry Knight was an occupational therapist from the same state — yes, the same state, what a concept!
Upon meeting at the altar, the pair clicked immediately and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. Aside from Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson, the couple are the only 2021 union who stayed together since the experiment ended.
And now they’re engaged! The couple shared the below post featuring Kerry wearing an engagement ring and captioned: “FOREVER.”

The news was greeted with enthusiasm by unproblematic MAFS faves, Jules and Cam Merchant. “So awesome. Congratulations to two of my fav people ever,” Jules wrote on the post. Her husband Cam added, “This is so phenomenal! Congratulations team! So much love.”
Jules also shared an Instagram Story showing the couple FaceTiming the newly engaged pair.
The engaged couple’s Instagram post was flooded by former MAFS stars sending their love. Ella Ding commented “Congratulations you two!!!” while Brent Vitiello wrote “Ahhh congrats cuties.”
If Johnny and Kerry make it down aisle soon, they will be the second married couple who met on the reality show. Bryce and Melissa are still engaged, as are iconic Season 6 couple, Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli.
