We’ve Predicted Which Couples From ‘MAFS’ Will Stay Together

As we kick off finale week for MAFS, the first part of the journey (before the reunion tea) is the final vows.

With five couples deciding whether they want to continue their journey outside of the experiment, we’ve decided to do a dive into their story thus far and whether or not they have the potential to make it the harsh outside world.

Since the show’s premiere in 2015, only one couple has successfully made it work. So while the odds may not be in anyone’s favour here, we’re holding hope at least one or two of the matches from this year will hold onto an everlasting love.

Pour a wine, take a seat… here’s which Married At First Sight couples we think will survive loved-up life after the experiment, from most likely to least!

1. Jules & Cam

Tahlia:

Jules and Cam have been the golden couple since the show’s start and by the looks of it, Cam will propose during final vows. They’re stable, loving, communicate well, and the one or two minor arguments we’ve seen from them on the show have been very normal spats you’d expect to have with your longterm partner. I have no doubt within six-12 months we’ll hear about these two reproducing.

Tara:

These two are the dream team. They’re even better matched than couples that I’ve stanned from previous seasons, like Sarah and Telv from last year. They both complement each other perfectly, are at similar life stages, and have already discussed moving in together and kids.  Sometimes it feels like they’re the only adults in this whole experiment (including the experts). I’m ready for them to adopt me but if mum and dad ever break up, I will be crushed.

2. Martha & Michael

Tahlia:

I think these two will recommit to each other, even though Martha shows as much emotion as the Mona Lisa. I’d say by the time the reunion airs they’ll have stayed together, but doubtful for life after the show. I see Instagram sponsorship deals for teeth whitening, hair products, and makeup, and then I predict them going their separate ways when the fame dries up.

Short term, however, they’ll be a successful couple with fake tan brands chasing them for endorsements.

Tara:

At odds with most of the viewers, I have loved this couple from the very beginning. I actually think they’re great together and will def stay together for final vows and the reunion. I get why people have issues with Martha, but the kindest sides we see of her are in her interactions with Michael. He brings out her soft side under that thick hard icy shell.

Michael is so damn loyal to her and he has never stopped defending her which is husband goals. Hopefully Martha gets that if you find a guy willing to put your fake eyelashes on, you need to lock that shit down. I don’t see them breaking up anytime soon unless Martha pulls the plug or Michael refuses to relocate to Bondi.

3. Jess & Dan

Tahlia:

It doesn’t take an expert to figure out Jess has fallen way too hard for Dan and he’s not exactly on the same level. With rumours already swirling about a baby on the way and Jess having moved to Queensland to be closer to Dan, I think they’ll recommit at final vows and still be together during the reunion.

As for this modern day? I’d say they’re together while the show is airing, but things are rocky. I’d be surprised if they last the year. But, hey, maybe I’m “misconstruing” them.

Tara:

I think they will stay together too. You don’t cheat on your spouse in front of the whole nation only to break up and look even more embarrassing. I think Jess has fallen hard and fallen fast. It might take longer for Dan to reveal his feelings but the way he speaks about Jess is vastly different to his descriptions of Tamara, so I think it’s actually for real. With rumours Jess has already moved to the Gold Coast, these two crazy kids might just last a bit longer. I’ll give them a year.

4. Ning & Mark

Tahlia: 

I don’t know if you guys know this yet, but these two haven’t banged. They haven’t experienced doing the sex. They have not had ANY sexual intimacy! How could we ever expect for them to make it as a couple?!

I like both Ning and Mark together (and separately), and can forgive their minor faults — Ning’s attempt at humour to cover up her emotions, Mark’s two red plastic cup policy. I’d actually love these two to work it out but it’s not looking promising. I just hope they end things in a nice, civil manner and both find true happiness elsewhere.

Tara:

I love them both so much and in my opinion, Ning has had the biggest journey out of all the contestants. But I have a bad feeling Ning is going to do the Dumb Thing and break Mark’s heart. She’s recently voted leave and I reckon she thinks she’s doing Mark a favour which is both devastating and super relatable.

I pray they give it a go in the real world because they actually complement each other and guess what guys, you can still have sex AFTER the experiment. Crazy, I know. But ultimately I predict following the end of the experiment they’re now just friends, nothing more.

5. Heidi & Mike

I trust Heidi will make the right call and follow her gut which must be screaming: DUMP. HIS. ASS.
