Harrison Boon is already bringing the drama to Married at First Sight.

The 32-year-old builder from New South Wales doesn’t waste a second, so let’s take a leaf out of Harrison’s playbook and get straight into it. The first episode of the new MAFS season introduced Harrison as an ummm, confident guy. “You’re a lucky man,” said an attendee at Harrison’s wedding. “She’s not doing too badly herself,” he smirked, then cuts to a wink.

Later in the first episode, Harrison’s bride, Bronte Schofield, was seen at her wedding praising her new groom, “He’s so lovely, he’s so nice,” she described Harrison.

However, Bronte is then pulled aside by none other than Jessica Tomlinson from this year’s The Bachelors, who needed to “tell her something”. Cue the dramatic cuts, Bronte’s wide-eyed shock, and Jess pulling out receipts on her phone.

Jessica told Bronte at the wedding that she recognised Harrison because her friend had been seeing him, right up until he left to film the show. You know, the one where he gets married… to Bronte.

As if that’s not enough of a crossover with rival reality show The Bachelors, Harrison was reportedly super close to being a Bachelor himself. And the girl he was seeing is rumoured to be a contestant on The Bachelors, alongside Jess.

What in the multiverse crossover is going on here?

So what’s the story behind this almost-Bachelor, who’s already wreaking havoc in this year’s MAFS? According to his bio, he’s got a “bone-dry sense of humour that can catch people unaware”. He also “doesn’t take himself too seriously, although he’s serious about finding love.”

I guess Harrison’s “she’s not doing too badly herself,” line could be a cheeky joke from a guy who doesn’t take take himself too seriously. Sure, if you say so.

To be fair, some of his Instagram captions are pretty funny. Like this one where he jokes about hating on loved-up couples, and another where he poses romantically with an emergency flotation device.

He also enjoys a snap of himself drinking beer while not wearing a top.

And he’s got countless adorable pics with his three-year-old son, plus Harrison is open to have more children “with the right woman” by the way. Not sure how I feel about coming in strong with the kids line, but hey, this is Married At First Sight, not Dating At First Sight.

His bio also says that for two years, Harrison was living the single life and “dating with no intention of commitment”, but is now eager to change his ways and settle down with someone who shares his values. If the rumours are true, he really took this one down to the wire by hooking up with someone right until the start of the show.

We can only wait and see how this one turns out!
