Everything We Know About Jason From ‘Married At First Sight’
Proving to be awful in the kitchen but good value in the bedroom, Jason Engler is a construction estimator from Queensland who’s sure to be a groom to watch on this year’s Married at First Sight.
Jason spent the first couple of weeks of the season going under the radar, but he caught the attention of women across Australia during Sunday’s commitment ceremony when his TV wife, Alana Lister, praised him for being a generous lover. While the exact word she used was bleeped out, we can safely assume that Alana said that Jason always made sure she orgasmed during their sex sessions.
“I feel like that’s super important,” Alana told the experts. “It’s actually a huge deal for me, so I really like that about him.” Amen, sister! While this should be the norm, many ladies will know that quite often a guy is more concerned with getting himself off, and often forgets (or doesn’t care) to return the favour.
Jason spoke to 9Entertainment about Alana’s admission. “I’m not as open with that, talking about all of that stuff as Alana is, so it came as a bit of a shock to me that she came out with it — but I’m not upset that she did,” he said.
“It’s not something I’m ashamed of and I guess it’s a good reputation to have,” he added. “There is a lot more to Alana and I’s relationship than that, but obviously that’s a very strong point of ours. For her to come out with that, I’m proud of it and reciprocate the compliments about her, to be honest.”

“This is going to sound weird but the job’s half done, for me it’s like I just didn’t know any other way sex would go.” Jason is a man after my own heart.
Speaking of hearts, do Jason and Alana go the distance or are they destined for heartbreak? Signs look positive that they’ve stayed together. During a chat with the Hit Network’s Bec, Cosi and Lehmo earlier this year, when Alana was asked how she and Jason were doing, she replied “I think we’re going pretty good.” Interesting! Let’s just pray that Jason’s recent attempt at making spaghetti bolognese didn’t scar Alana for life and put her off him.
It’s encouraging to note that both Jason and Alana have posted plenty of cute photos together on their respective Instagrams as the season has aired, which can’t be said for some other contestants whose relationships are on rocky ground. For example, Rebecca has posted zero posed couple shots with Jake on her grid. Colour me shocked.

Jason admits that he’s spent most of his life living a bachelor lifestyle, but now that he’s 35 years old, he no longer wants to spend every weekend partying. After noticing that he’s the last single lad in his group of friends, Jason reckons he’s not only ready to find The One, but he’s keen to start a family before it’s too late.
“I can imagine being a dad but I’m getting on in years now. So whether that’s a possibility I don’t know,” he said on MAFS. “All my mates, their kids are like 10. I’ve missed the boat. If experts can’t get it right, can’t match me with someone and I can’t do it, I’ll probably say there’s no hope left for me to be honest with you.”
Jason has previously struggled to find a woman he could see a long-term future with, due to trust issues caused by three of his ex-girlfriends cheating on him. His search for love has even led to Jason’s mum setting him up on dates, but alas, he hasn’t found what he’s looking for, which Jason described as the “spark that Hollywood makes movies out of”.
Has he found this with ‘hot teacher’ Alana? We bloody hope so!
