Natasha From ‘MAFS’ Spills The Tea After Last Night’s Dramatic Dinner Party Reunion
After weeks of mundane episodes, last night’s Married at First Sight delivered us the drama we all deserved in the form of the dinner party reunion.
While most of the season was heavily focused on whether or not Michael kissed Hayley after a drunken night out, former couple Mikey and Natasha came into the dinner party ready to blow things up, with Mikey saying he and Stacey had a one night stand.
With Natasha perhaps giving the most epic toast we’ve ever seen on MAFS — calling Michael and Stacey out on their fake relationship — things only escalated from there. Stacey denied all the allegations, Michael was lost for words for once in his life, and Mikey pulled out a bunch of text messages between himself and Stacey that he made Chris read out to the group.
We spoke to Natasha this morning about where she stands with Stacey, Mikey, and the fact there’s more to the storylines on Married at First Sight than what people see.
On watching last night’s dramatic episode back:
“It’s so hard to watch it back. I’m so glad I had the courage to speak up and speak some truth because I think during my time in the experiment I was so shut down. Part of me is like, we needed that episode but I’m now in a place where I’m trying to encourage people to end cyberbullying and send messages of love, I think it would have been better to take Stacey aside privately.”
On whether production encouraged her dinner party toast:
“Most people knew murmurs about it, and it wasn’t so much the producers, it was more cast members. Some were like ‘don’t do it Tash, just let it go,’ and people like Hayley and Mikey and Aleks and Ivan were like ‘no she needs to be caught out.’ It wasn’t really production, it was us.”
On where she stands with Stacey and Mikey:
“I reached out to Stacey and offered her some support. She ended up hospitalised from getting trolled when the show started, so we healed our wounds. Mikey and I were in a really good place, but he’s gone to the media and said some things that are pretty much defamation about me, so Mikey and I have cut all ties, it’s become a really toxic relationship.”
“Stacey and I were going to go live [on Instagram] together last night, I think we were both just overwhelmed by the amount of hate. I don’t think Stacey will be too vocal about struggling because she’s a strong person.”
On whether something did happen with Stacey and Mikey:
“I don’t know, I really don’t. I think at the end of the day, it sure looks like something happened from the text messages and stuff, but I don’t even know.”
On Mikey and his family releasing a video of him taking a lie detector test:
“Are they allowed to even legally film lie detectors? From what I’ve heard it was Mikey’s dad’s friend who did the test. I haven’t even been bothered to go and watch it.”
On the contestants’ breaking their contracts this season to talk to the media about their storylines:
“The media says it’s the first time contestants have reached out to them, the network says don’t trust the media, the media says don’t trust the network. Then you don’t trust each other, so then it’s just this big, toxic environment. It became kind of like The Hunger Games.”
On where Ivan and Aleks really stand:
“I speak to both of them, and Aleks does not want to speak to Ivan ever again. They did come in as a united front at the dinner party, but from what I understand from Aleks, Ivan’s relationship with Mikey has kind of caused him to want this playboy, party-boy image and Aleks got sick of her being in Perth and Ivan being in Sydney and going out with Mikey all the time.”
On whether she’s spoken to Michael at all:
“I have nothing to say to that idiot (Michael). Some people actually felt sorry for him last night but Stacey had his back the whole entire time, and he went from saying nothing to just running away the second things got complicated. I guess you shouldn’t stir the pot, then you wouldn’t have so many people after you!”
On the show’s editing:
“I think there’s been a lot that’s been edited out. People definitely had their opinions silenced. Like, when Amanda walked into the girls’ night reunion, someone said ‘oh where’s Tash?’ and she said ‘probably lying in the gutter drunk somewhere.’ And that was the reason that Tash and I came in quite cold to Amanda at the reunion but none of that got aired so it just looks like Tash was cold to Amanda for no reason.”
On whether she’d do the show again & what she wants fans of MAFS to know:
“Oh my god, no, I would never do this again. I’d rather go do any other show, I’d rather be thrown in the jungle or whatever. After being on MAFS, I’ve learned to chew with my mouth shut! And always stay true to yourself, don’t let yourself get walked over.
“[For fans of the show] I guess I want to reiterate messages of love. Contestants at the end of the day are normal people. Go into the finale for entertainment purposes but there’s no need to send messages of hate.”
