Last night’s Married at First Sight sure was An Episode, as four intruder contestants were introduced and the season’s first cheating scandal unfolded.

And like most intruder couples, it already looks like these pairings are destined for disaster. First up, we’ve got high-maintenance bride Tayla matched with low-maintenance groom, Hugo. Then there’s the confident and extroverted model, Evelyn, who was wed to the super shy introvert, Rupert. Well played, MAFS experts. Well played.

But all the intruder drama was overshadowed by Claire revealing earlier in the episode that despite how furious she was with Jesse for accusing her of cheating with Adam, umm… she actually did cheat with Adam. BIG LOL.

JUSTICE FOR JESSE AND JANELLE.

There’s a lot to unpack so let’s jump straight in!

Last night’s intruder weddings on Married at First Sight recapped in tweets:

Jesse has never been happier, which means things are about to take a sharp turn. Claire shares that she’s feeling guilty as she’s hiding a secret before confiding in Sandy that on the notorious night out, she had in fact kissed Adam. She adds that afterwards, Adam encouraged her not to tell anyone.

But just as we try to process that bombshell, it’s time for intruder weddings! Down in Tasmania, we meet nurse and control freak, Tayla, who will be wed to account executive and human labrador, Hugo, from Sydney.

Moving on to glamorous model Evelyn from Sydney, who has been matched with Rupert, a sparky from Brisbane. Do opposites attract? We’re about to find out! Against our will!

Tayla is freaking out about everything: her groom’s height, her dress, the long car ride, why she joined the show, and why she can’t just go to the pub. Big mood.

Tayla and Hugo meet and look, she ain’t super impressed. Tayla’s vows are chaotic, and she heckles Hugo during his — even though they’re the sweetest vows I’ve ever heard.

Rupert drops the wedding rings while awkwardly waltzing up the aisle. He is so blown away by Evelyn (same tbh!) to the point where he forgets how to form words instead mumbling nonsense at her. Unlike Hugo, Rupert’s vows fall flat with weird jokes and that’s all before he almost misplaces the rings.

After an awkward photoshoot, Evelyn attempts to have a conversation but Rupert simply refuses to speak. And when he does speak, it doesn’t make much sense. At least Hugo and Tayla are talking, but I kind of wish Tayla wasn’t as she yells “I hate cats!” at her groom when he asks about her pet preferences.

Jesse is thriving at the wedding but the vibe is off. Sandy passed on to Dan what Claire had told her, and he ain’t happy. Due to the stress, Claire rushes to the toilet to vomit. Meanwhile, Adam is acting like he and Janelle are the perfect couple. Lol.

Claire is triggered when Tayla’s wedding speech mentions “loyalty,” so decides now is the time to pull Jesse aside. You sure about that, sis? She tells him about the secret kiss with Adam and he replies that he knew all along. He calls Adam “a dog” and “a snake” and he’s furious. We can’t blame him.
