Everything We Know About Controversial ‘MAFS’ Groom Shannon
Shannon Adams has become one of the biggest villains to come out of Married at First Sight, and tbh, it’s what he deserves.
The 30-year-old personal trainer’s bio says that he joined MAFS hoping to find “someone who accepts him just as he is.” The experts paired Shannon up with Caitlin McConville, and their wedding was honestly adorable, but OFC, with the show being MAFS, you know things aren’t what they seem.
Shannon and Caitlin’s relationship began to go downhill during Confessions Week when the pair were tasked with the photo ranking challenge. Shannon showed his true colours after he ranked Caitlin second, then moved her to third, making crude remarks that he’s seen her without makeup and even boasted that she can “level up” in her looks. Yuck.

In that same episode, Shannon was caught calling his on-and-off again ex before revealing to Caitlin that he still loved his ex… yikes. But despite this shocking revelation, Shannon and Caitlin chose to stay in the experiment at the following commitment ceremony.
However, things got even more WORSE. During Intimacy Week, the pair attempted to do some exercises, but instead of trying to further a connection, Shannon straight-up told Caitlin that he didn’t find her attractive. Shannon even said that if Caitlin ‘blew him away’ when she walked down the aisle, he wouldn’t still be hung up on his ex, which is a load of BS.
Thank f*ck, Caitlin pulled him up on his behaviour by telling him what he said was a “kick to the gut,” and that she deserved to feel beautiful and be loved – and she’s correct!

After Caitlin’s chat, the pair decided to stay in separate apartments, and during that period, Claire and Lyndall caught Shannon out with a mystery woman and a child, who they assumed was his ex and daughter. Claire confronted Shannon at the dinner party, but he claimed that they were just family members.
With all this happening in the first three weeks of the experiment, fans have already shared their disdain for the groom online.

Shannon cares a lot about his body – after all, he’s a personal trainer – and way before MAFS, Shannon competed in the 2019 Manhunt Model Of The Year Title.
In an article from the Pakenham Gazette discussing his modelling career, Shannon said “I don’t want to be someone who’s just a model – I want to be a role model to people and to eventually be the number one fitness role model in the country.”
Shannon’s Instagram includes mostly snaps from MAFS, but his tagged pics feature a bunch of gym photos.

Married at First Sight is not the first TV show Shannon has been on. According to his IMDB page, Shannon was also on Blue Heelers, Rush, and Neighbours.
And based on his Star Now profile, Shannon also worked on commercials for Love Island, Black Magic Design, GIO insurance and Toyota (in Japan). His first job in entertainment was in 2003 for Toyota.

According to The Wash, Shannon and his on/off ex are back together. A source told the online gossip site, “Shannon only went on the show to make his ex jealous. They have been onagain and off again for years and he figured going on national TV to find love would win her back. He was in touch with her the whole time he was on the show.”

In all honesty, Shannon jumping on MAFS was a waste of time.
