REMINDER: Adam Liaw’s Tweets Are Still The Best Thing About ‘MasterChef’
This week MasterChef returned to our screens but much more importantly Adam Liaw’s tweets about MasterChef are back. Praise be.
Adam won the second season of MasterChef in 2010 and has gone on to become one of the series’ greatest success stories. Aside from authoring several cookbooks and hosting popular cooking/travel shows on SBS, Adam has gained popularity on social media for his quick witted tweets and social commentary.
As MasterChef premiered this week, so did Adam’s tweets. Last night’s episode saw Gordon Ramsay absolutely crucify the red team in a challenge, after fedora-loving Chris failed to correctly portion his pork belly — which resulted in uneven-sized main meals to cover the service. While it was awfully stressful to watch, Adam’s hilarious tweets helped alleviate some of the stress.
Chris should just blame the rat under his hat that's controlling his movements. #MasterChefAU

This is the pork belly I had for dinner FYI. It took me 5 minutes and nobody yelled at me. #MasterChefAU https://t.co/jpycdp889v

Right now, MasterChef is experiencing a ratings boom with over a million Aussies tuning in to the premiere — the highest viewing numbers in five years. Watching MasterChef is the perfect escape from the depressing COVID-19 news cycle and Adam’s lols just make everything better.
Here are some of Adam Liaw’s funniest tweets from the first episodes of MasterChef:
Adam often draws on his own experiences in the MasterChef kitchen.
One of the main skills you learn on #MasterChefAU is how to clap aggressively at people.

Why is Callum so big? Like an adult. #MasterChefAU

He can always be called upon as Poh’s hype man.
If Poh gets eliminated at any stage all the remaining contestants should just start tearing the kitchen apart. Like throwing ovens through the windows and ripping up the floors any everything. #MasterChefAU

Poh should just charge $1000 per hug and save our economy. #MasterChefAU

What about a show where Poh, Amina and Rose just slowly cook nice things but it's totally OK and there's nobody yelling? #MasterChefAU

But mostly, he just takes the piss out of the show and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
I, too, am worried that my carpaccio with burnt onion soubise and black garlic is too simple. #MasterChefAU

Reynold "hopes he's done enough" before listing 3079 different things he's put into a tiny bowl. #MasterChefAU

In about 5 more episodes Poh is going to be doing all of these contestant interviews Gogglebox-style with a cigarette and a glass of red. #MasterChefAU

Never change, Adam.
I haven't felt this much emotion since Ratatouille. #MasterChefAU
