Poh Had Viewers On The Edge Of A Panic Attack On Last Night’s ‘MasterChef’
If you watched MasterChef last night then there’s a good chance you’re still in recovery from Poh’s hectic cake baking. I’m still having palpitations.
On Sunday’s episode, Gordon Ramsay’s mystery box turned out to be a 90-minute timer. “Gordon’s left you with 90 minutes to cook with,” Jock told the chefs. “It sounds like a lot but it’s a two-round challenge.”
After the first round, the bottom five dishes would be chosen and those five contestants would go into the second round with a chance to redeem themselves, cooking with the time they had left. With most contestants dividing their time accordingly, Poh proved that she did not come to play, deciding to use the entire 90 minutes to bake a strawberry and lychee chiffon cake — a dessert that typically takes her three to four hours to create. Ooft. Power move.

Poh has BDE, even the judges are scared by her power #MasterChefAU

This risk meant that if Poh’s cake wasn’t perfect — and therefore safe from the bottom five — then she would automatically be eliminated because she would have no time left to cook again.
As the minutes ticked down, Poh maniacally ran around the MasterChef kitchen, soon realising that she usually leaves her cake to cool for two hours before frosting it. but due to the challenge’s time restraints she had a mere 15 minutes. My heart just can’t take this.
Being a Poh stan is not a carefree job and viewers were extremely STRESSED:
Poh: The cake usually takes two hours to cool, I’m hoping it does in 15 minutes. #masterchefau

How much of the time are you going to use to make your cake?

If Poh was in this challenge with her 7 or so minutes, she would pump out 100 profiteroles and make the dreaded S1 Croquembouche! ?#MasterChefAU

Thankfully, because it’s Poh-Fucking-Ling-Yeow, she ended up serving a truly stunning cake and was quickly deemed safe by the judges. In the end, Lynton, Courtney, Chris, Rose and Hayden were sent into the second elimination round and sadly Lynton was sent packing.
I love you Poh, but rooting for you is an extreme sport. My chaotic queen.
Grandchildren: How did you cope in the pandemic?
Me: Look basically okay until Poh decided to use the entire 90 minutes to make a strawberry lychee chiffon cake in the #MasterchefAU time challenge.— Michael Lucas (@MrMichaelLucas) April 19, 2020
