If your life is a bit light on magic, there’s a new viral trend doing the rounds that has its participants become telekinetic… well sort of.

The #MatildaChallenge is a new video trend that tries to recreate the iconic scene in 1996 kids classic Matilda, where all the items around the room float as ‘Little Bitty Pretty One’ plays.

YouTuber Beto Pedraza was one of the first to parody the dance sequence. The video is particularly funny because you can clearly see a few clumsy helping hands recreating the magic.

The video has since inspired countless interpretations, particularly from Central and South America. People are roping in all their mates and fam to help out and it seems the crappier the attempt, all the better.

It’s some seriously stupid fun.
