Macca’s Has Sneakily Added Potato Scallops To The Menu And My Body Is Ready
Macca’s has blessed us by adding a legendary Aussie delicacy to its summer menu, and we’re absolutely frothing at the mouth.
What delicacy is it? Well, obvs, by the headline and the article photo… it’s frkn POTATO SCALLOPS!
Rumours of potato scallops being sold at Macca’s first began last week when a Facebook page titled ‘Foodie Mumma Ren’ posted a photo of the item, writing, “I hope this is true! This on a Big Mac would be amazing!”
And the rumour is now legit, with the snack officially arriving to Macca’s on 11 January.
Before we argue over what a potato scallop is called — I think some people from other states call these potato cakes/fritters, which are both wrong (I don’t make the rules) — can we appreciate that Macca’s is finally giving us what we need?
What do you call these?
Potato Scallops or Potato Fritters? pic.twitter.com/ugLxh0z8HE— Jack Kevorkian (@kevorkian82) January 7, 2023
Downing 10 of these bad boys after a night of clubbing sounds deadly.
It’s also nice to know that you can get your hands on these potato scallops at any time of the day, as most Macca’s restaurants are open 24hrs.
Regarding the new items, Marketing Director of McDonald’s Australia, Tim Kenward, said “Macca’s is giving you another reason to get together this summer, with a menu that’s as good on a roadtrip with mates as it is at the beach or in the backyard on a summer’s day.” And NGL a potato scallop after a swim hits the spot.
Alongside the arrival of the iconic, crispy Aussie snack, Macca’s will also be adding a bunch of new items like the Aussie Angus Deluxe, McSpicy Deluxe and the highly requested Hokey Pokey Thickshake — which is hitting Australian stores for the first time.
The summer items will be available in-store and via McDelivery and we honestly can’t wait to sink our teeth into this crunchy delight.
