The Victorian government have today announced a coup of monstrous proportions, winning the rights to host ‘Jurassic World: The Exhibition’ in a world premiere.

It will no-doubt send fans of the Steven Spielberg-produced Jurassic Park franchise apeshit, with the spectacle expected to draw fans from interstate and abroad. It’s hope that it’ll bring in an extra $8 million to the local economy.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren broke the news this morning, saying that the exhibition will take place at Melbourne Museum and will be the museum’s blockbuster event of 2016. The world premiere event debuts in Melbourne on 19 March 2016 and will run for a limited time. Tickets are already on sale on the Museum’s website.

Partnering with Imagine Exhibitions and Universal Pictures, it’s expected to feature props, costumes, sets and life-sized animatronic dinosaurs from the films alongside educational elements. The museum says that,

“The Exhibition is infused with interactive educational elements—drawn from the real-world science of dinosaur DNA that allowed Jurassic World to come to life.”

Grossing $1.67 billion globally, Jurassic World is one of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history.
