MKR’s Amy Responds To Being Called A Sexist Slur By Josh On Last Night’s Ep
Defying moral standards, on last night’s ep of ‘My Kitchen Rules’ contestant Josh called fellow cook Amy a sexist slur on national television.
When delivering his entree, Josh who is known for his gross behaviour, said to Amy, “thanks, sl*t” in reply. An abusive slur that at the time went completely unchecked and uncontested by the judges and other contestants.
But on Twitter it was a much different story, and people are pretty disgusted by Josh’s derogatory language targeting Amy and Channel 7 airing the slur and promoting the whole exchange – all without condemnation.
Showing Josh saying that and not showing outrage perpetuates/condones violence against women #mkr

Disgusted with @Channel7 using a woman being called a 'slut' on #mkr as click bait. What does that teach young viewers about respect?

Since the episode aired Josh was quick to blame the producers for editing him unfavorably and encouraging that kind of heated dialogue. But what about Amy? The talented cook has since spoken out about the incident.
“Josh definitely crossed the line with that comment, and he didn’t use very good judgment,” she told News Corp. “To have him say that was quite upsetting.”
Amy went on to say that she confronted Josh about his offensive actions after the dinner party.
“At the time I was focusing on the rest of the cook,” she said. “I put it at the back of my mind and focused on what I had to do that night but I did speak to him the next day.”
“I didn’t feel that addressing the comment at the table in front of other judges and contestants with 1.5 million people was the right thing to do.”
It’s a pretty gross oversight that no else stepped in to defend Amy – especially judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel. Josh has since apologised, but several viewers think he should be eliminated on grounds of verbal assault.
“We all know Josh is a bit of a sh*t-stirrer and likes to get a reaction out of people,” said Amy. “But that comment was taking it way too far.”
AMEN.
