Advertising agencies work around the clock to assure their brands stand out from the crowd. Brainstorming unique ideas to implant into hungry consumers’ heads can lead to some pretty interesting marketing pitches.

With all the distractions that come with the modern-age of technology and digital media, many would argue that agencies are having to go to more drastic measures to engage their target audience.

In 2015, there was no shortage of brands that were willing to push the envelope and fearlessly cross the line of advertising censorship. Meanwhile, it was up to Ad Standards Bureau (ASB) to field complaints from the general public prudes.

Overall the ASB received 4,000 complaints this year against 450 different ads throughout the year. This was a drop from a gangbuster year of complaining in 2014 which recorded 5,600 angry, cane shaking complaints.
