Who doesn’t love a My Muscle Chef meal?

Let’s be real, cooking is hard. Sure, the contestants on MasterChef make it look easy. But, at the end of the day, if I’m cooking one night, I need to mentally prepare myself for the task at hand. And that, in itself, takes weeks.

As a result, I’ve turned to the pre-made meals that you can find in your local supermarket. Here, there are a tonne of options ranging in quality, size, and price. Personally, I’ve found that My Muscle Chef is the perfect intersection of all these things and they align well with my fitness routine. So it’s safe to say, I’ve tried every single flavour that you can get at your local supermarket.

As a result, I thought I’d rank them. Let’s get into it.

Here’s A Definitive Ranking Of All The My Muscle Chef Meals You Can Find In Your Local Supermarket

#12. Satay Chicken With Basmati Rice & Green Peas

OK, I’m going to start this off by saying that satay chicken is one of my favourite dishes ever, so this was already an uphill battle for My Muscle Chef. And, because satay chicken is normally so sweet, My Muscle Chef’s healthy interpretation of this Thai dish misses the level of intensity that I oh so craved. Hence, it’s at the bottom of the list. Also, I hate peas. Sorry, not sorry.

#11. Lemon Pepper Chicken With Pea Mash

Oh look, the peas are here again! Next on the list is the lemon pepper chicken with pea mush. I mean mash. No, I mean mush.

Coming from an Asian background, lemon chicken to me is usually drenched in lemon juice and deep-fried. So when I microwaved the shredded chicken and consumed it with pea mash, I was sadly disappointed. My Muscle Chef, if you’re listening, I recommend more lemon and more deep-fried-ness to improve this recipe! Oh, that’s not healthy? Well, I’ll see myself out.

#10. Spaghetti Bolognese

I feel bad putting this dish so low on the list because it genuinely has done nothing wrong. Like, it’s a great dish. The only reason why it’s so low is because I feel like SpagBol is one of the easiest dishes to cook and thus, there’s no need to eat a microwavable one. But, I guess if you’re out and about, this is a goer.

#9. Pesto Chicken with Penne Pasta & Green Vegetables

My Muscle Chef

Again, pesto chicken with penne pasta and green vegetables ranks low only because I feel like, if you want to have pesto chicken with penne pasta and green vegetables, just cook it!

#8. Peri-Peri Chicken with Tomato Rice & Green Beans

My Muscle Chef

Ugh, now we are getting into the good stuff! Tomato rice is the most underrated form of rice, let me tell you. This meal punches you in the face with how much flavour it’s got going on. Normally, I hate green beans (yes, I’m a child), but they’re great here. In fact, they offer a bit of variety to the rest of the dish. I highly recommend it.

#7. Cajun Chicken with Dirty Rice

My Muscle Chef

Cajun sauce, chicken breast slices, and brown rice was a combination that I hadn’t tried before My Muscle Chef. But as soon as I did, I wondered how I ever lived my life without it. Truly an excellent dish, but not as good as the next 6!

#6. Chicken Miso Ramen

My Muscle Chef

Call me stupid, but I was expecting soup for when I saw that the dish was called “chicken miso ramen”. But, even though the meal wasn’t what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised with the dish that I got. If you’re someone who’s a fan of stir-fries, then I highly recommend trying this one. It’s sweet but not too sweet, the chicken is succulent, and the mushrooms add a nice texture to the dish.

#5. Kimchi Korean Beef with Sweet Potato Noodles

My Muscle Chef

This shit – and I can not stress this enough – pops off. I love a bit of chilli in my meals and the kimchi Korean beef with sweet potato noodles was the perfect level of spice. The noodles, the sesame, and the ground beef all made for such a filling, tasty meal.

Pro tip: Shake the tub of food as soon as you finish warming it up in the microwave, that way the sauce evenly covers all of the noodles and each bite is as tasty as the last.

#4. Smokey BBQ Brisket With Sweet Potato, Kale & Feta Mash

My Muscle Chef

Okay, yum. I love the flavour of smokey BBQ sauce as much as the next person but unfortunately, I’ve been cutting back on it because it usually comes with fries, a burger, or a hot dog. But, not today!

My Muscle Chef’s smokey BBQ brisket with sweet potato, kale and feta mash is so bloody yummy, I can’t believe it’s healthy. The only thing for me is that it could have used a bit more texture, but that’s nothing a few corn chips can’t help out with!

#3. Chipotle Chicken Burrito Bowl

My Muscle Chef

Literally, Guzman Y Gomez could never.

I’ll be real, the top three on this list could have all been number one, they’re so good. But, coming in at number three is the chipotle chicken burrito bowl. If you’re a fan of Mexican food, you’ll be a fan of this meal. Not only is it a very colourful dish, but each element of the dish is super tasty (veges included). Also, it’s one of the larger dishes that My Muscle Chef offer, so if you tend to eat larger portions, like me, then definitely hit this bad boy up.

#2. Beef Stroganoff with Spinach Fettuccine

Out of all the dishes on this list, I’ve had the beef stroganoff with spinach fettuccine the most. And that’s no accident.

While I did talk shit about how easy it is to make pasta earlier in this article, none of that applies to this 10/10 dish. This recipe is as good as the dish my mum used to make and considering it’s healthy, that’s a win for me.

#1. Crumbed Chicken with Roasted Potatoes

My Muscle Chef

Here we go!!!! A worthy number one!!!! The crumbed chicken with roasted potatoes hits the goddamn spot. I actually don’t know what else to tell you. If I could have it for every meal I would. It’s talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique. It is the mother I never had. It’s everything.
