Nando’s Is Donating $500k To Foodbank To Feed Vulnerable Aussies & You Can Help
Supporting the community in partnership with Foodbank
There are lots of ways to help during the COVID-19 pandemic, and our delicious chicken hero Nando’s is helping Foodbank provide 1 million meals to Aussies in need with a $500,000 donation.
Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, helping feed 815,000 people each month by supplying food and groceries to charities working in the community. The number of people requiring assistance from Foodbank has grown due the impact of COVID-19, and Nando’s contribution means the organisation will be better equipped to help them.
The restaurant chain will donate to Foodbank every time a customer makes a purchase over $15, until a total donation of $500,000 is made. That will help provide a million meals to people in need, especially people who have lost income or access to basic living essentials.
We love this idea and literally can’t stop thinking about PERi-PERi chips right now, so we’ve thrown together some suggestions for meals you can order that are above $15 that’ll contribute to the initiative. You’re welcome.
Nando’s incred Chicken BLAT Burger with a side of PERi-PERi chips (you’ve gotta!) will make a nice meal (for yourself and the people who benefit from your donation).
The Superfuel Salad with yummo chicken tenders is a healthier option for those times you really want to order something but don’t want to use up your cheat night.
Otherwise, the half PERi-PERi chicken with a side salad is a high protein hit with minimal carbs. Love that for us!
The initiative applies to all take-away, delivery and dine-in orders (where available) over $15 placed at Nando’s restaurants around the country. As if you needed an excuse to order your next meal, Nando’s have gone and given you the best one.
One in five Aussies have experienced food insecurity in the last year, and that number is expected to rise in 2020. This is an easy (and delicious) way to help.
