Netflix Have Released The List Of Shows Most Binge-Watched By Aussies
The best thing about the bold new era of streaming service television is the gluttonous joy of binge-watching an entire season of a show over the weekend, just shutting yourself in a dark room and letting the world pass you by.
Now Netflix has revealed some data on just how common a good binge fest is and what shows people first gravitate to when they buy their subscription. And you can find out what YOUR first binged show was, so you can relive the guilty glory of it all.
A “binge” is defined as completing at least one season of a show within seven days of starting. According to Netflix, a regular binge session in Australia usually lasts for around three days, with over 90 percent of users deciding to have a long binging session of one of their favourite TV shows.
It’s also clear that binge-watching is a natural instinct for most viewers, as on average it only takes 12 days for a person to start their first session after joining Netflix. Hmm, it’s almost as if it’s DESIGNED to make you want to keep watching The Crown all night?
Sorry you can’t sit here :/ this is table is only for the kids who binge watch One Day at a Time on Netflix, a sitcom which follows a Cuban American family and their funny, yet real and relatable dynamic.

And according to the streaming service, there are ten shows that people rush to binge first – and honestly, they’re mostly great television. Still, there are some strange inclusions (Jonah from Tonga????), and some surprising exclusions (The Crown is really good guys). The top ten first binge shows in Australia are:
-
Orange is the New Black
-
Stranger Things
-
Narcos
-
Vikings
-
Suits
-
House of Cards
-
13 Reasons Why
-
Gossip Girl
-
Jonah from Tonga
-
The 100
It’s super easy to find out what your magical first binge was too, just in case you’ve forgotten: go to your Netflix account page. Select “Viewing activity” and scroll all way (way) down… and there you have it! Boom, beautiful, misty coloured memories. And according to Netflix, 35 percent of people rewatch their first binge, so now’s your chance.
I wish I was the girl who drank smoothies, took care of her skin and worked out but instead I’m the girl who spends all of her time eating chocolate, binge watching Netflix and being horny
