A new app does the exact opposite of what most us try to do while getting the train.

Rather than help you avoid eye contact and chatting with your fellow passengers ‘Junction’ allows you to spark up a conversation with other commuters by creating a chat room for your train.

Users simply chose their train line then select the direction they are headed and they can then start a virtual chin-wag.

The app has seen a steady rise in popularity over the last few weeks and comes out perfectly in time for Mx wrapping up publication.

This means all of you out there that have been using Mx’s famed Here’s Looking at You section now have a much more direct and less public means off communication for your lost love.

The app is presently only available in for trains, but developer Nathan Darma said that he hoped it would expand to bus, tram and even ferry networks.
