Exciting news for DC fans this morning, as Vixen is expected to be joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Vixen has been rumoured to be joining the cast for some time now, with CW President Mark Pedowitz commenting that Vixen would “hopefully…spin itself out, if not it can join legends,” earlier in the year and according to TVInsider it will be the latter.

After the season finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, there are a few vacancies on the waverider and female superhero Vixen is expected to become a series regular to help fill the gaps.

Vixen currently has her own animated web series on the CW Seed and appeared for the first time in live-action portrayed by Megalyn Echikunwoke on Arrow this year.

Echikunwoke on Arrow received positive feedback from fans, however her work schedule is too busy for her to join ‘Legends’.

Instead of Echikunwoke as Mari McCabe(Vixen), we’ll be seeing a new version of Vixen on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, who is from the past and may or may not be connected to McCabe’s Vixen.

Of course, with the show being based around time travel, it would be easy for Rip Hunter and the gang to go back in time and recruit an earlier version of Vixen to join their team.

Casting for the new Vixen is currently ongoing and it’ll be interesting to see who is cast to follow Echikunwoke’s footsteps.
